I'm having hard time deciding on a phone...I kinda like I-phone 4, as I did not like I-phone 3...also, a few co-workers of mine just got Samsung Captivate which I kinda like even more...hmmmm...I'm with at&t and am not planning to switch to a different corrier...there is also Sony Ericson Xperia, and BB Torch... what would you choose, and why??? I also wanted to be able to hook it up to my X5's I-drive...I know I-phone will work, but what about others???
iPhone 4! Sleek, sexy, fast, easy to use, good warranty and CS. I love mine, sooo much improvement over my old 3G- camera, SCREEEEN, speed, etc. All of it adds up to a more smooth and simple experience.
I-phone 4 Ive gone through IPhone, IPhone 3G Currently on a 3GS There the best phone so simple and intuitive, apps are developed better than any other platform. My friend got a blackberry about six months ago and was braging how it was so much better than my iPhone. Now he is complaining how nothing works. While my iPhone works the same way as the day I bought it. Now he keeps complaining about how he wants the IPhone lol The design is not fragile nor is it plastic junk, there is no plastic buttons that stop working or fall apart. I've droped my phone plenty of times and it's is very sturdy Get a IPhone you won't regret it
Sergei...I graduated from the Dark Ages by going from my old flip phone to the Iphone 4. I love it!! For someone not accompanied to using a phone for anything other than making calls, it's stupid easy to use and it works great. I've created 10 ringtones for it including some from artists that block their songs from being used. (PM me for the info if you're interested...there was a Black Keys song I tried but was blocked...not now!) The battery goes down a lot faster than my old phone but I think that is to be expected. This is more like a mini computer than a phone. The screen is incredible. Have you seen one in person? Photos don't do it justice. The video is great and for a 5 MP camera, it shoots nice pics. Try one out in person...to me that's the only way to choose. Everyone has different goals in a phone. The apps alone make this a standout. Good luck.
Samsung Galaxy S, known as the Captivate for AT&T. The iPhone is a piece of garbage and I wish I never bought one. The iPhone 4 is way behind the curve. Release yourself from the brand, you'll be happier. YouTube - iPhone4 vs HTC Evo
I went from the iPhone OG to the iPhone 4. It's night and day. Love the 5MP camera, HD video is very nice, built-in flash etc. Very fast at everything, would highly recommend. My brother-in-law just got that Captivate and it's just another iPhone rip off. The buttons on the bottom were driving me' bonkers as you press them by mistake easily.
The iphone 4 is great for the consumers who want today's best mobile technology in a simple easy to use manner. The captivate is good for the consumers who like a little more freedom with customization, and then those who like to hack to get even more out of their mobile devices. Both phones are good, I wouldn't say the captivate is a iphone rip off, as that it may look similar at first, but once you get used to it you'll realize the user interface are not very similar. Some pros of each phone. Iphone 4 - if you have a lot of buddies with iphone 4 then you can webcam with each other, which is cool. - higher resolution - its pretty shiney and slick - simple interface Captivate - I prefer super amoled over retina display - larger screen 4 inch vs 3.7 - google applications, ie. google voice = free calling/texting in the US/CAN - open source development - gorilla glass, indestructible glass to a certain extent PS. the torch is just a POS lol ):
i've used the iphone 4 and samsung captivate, and the iphone is far behind what android phones are capable of doing. definitely go for the captivate.
Fall apart lol no I'm joking. Ya it does have more features, but I don't mind to have less features than to have better construction. Let's face it the iPhone is has the most solid structure. The only thing that can break really is the screen which pretty much goes for all phones unless you have a oled screen
that's not really correct, the captitivate has a super amoled screen, but that is the display, the glass protecting it is gorilla glass, which makes it really difficult to break on accident, but phones like the motorola droid 1/2/x on verizon, do not have amoled, but have gorilla glass. My nexus one has amoled screen, but I did manage to break it ): flew out of my hand and 15 ft away against cement ):
Sorry I hope I didn't offend you with my comment, but this is how I feel about the new BB torch. In my comparisons I feel as though the torch is slow and outdated, perhaps if this was 2007 it would be great. The torch is blackberry's newest attempt to compete in the smartphone market but like the blackberry storm on verizon, I feel as though going between different applications was a patience test process, does not seem to be too business consumer friendly in that manner. The resolution is small something like 480x360, I find that its hard to understand why they released it with such a small resolution when you compared to a iPhone 4's 960x460. I feel as though the user interface was not up to BB standards for solid performance, text were more difficult to read, and even deleting them was a hassle. On an aesthetics's note I think its ugly.
Hello duhabio, i have seen your nexus one perfomance at linpack. The model is exactly tje same of mine, but my performance average on 35 mflops, using cm6. How did you manage to increase it?
i have them both. i still prefer the iphone. the android phones get you with all kinds of BS apps that just seem to make the thing slower. i did root the samsune and removed all the BS software that i didn't want and that made it more tolerable though.
I am currently a BB user and think the 9500 is a super unit. The phone fits perfectly to the ear, the speaker phone is excellent, Emails are dead easy to use, store and organize, and texting is prob. its best feature , i can text really fast with the key board. I did try the Torch in NYC last month. Used it for about 20 mins comparing it to everything ATT had out there. Somehow I didnt like it as much. The keyboard felt a bit uwkward in my hand, The phone didn't fit in my palm and ear as well, and the software was not as intuitive as my 9500. Funny ATT is selling the TORCH and 9500 for the same price right now. Not so good for RIM as it shows the Torch is not getting a good response in the market place. For the moment i'm going to stick with my proven 9500. I primarily use it for business .... the apps from apple suck. I havn't used one that i would acutally use day to day but again i use my phone as a business tool and not a calorie counter, reading books , music toy or picutres ... Another big negative about the iphone is that it doesn't have a to do list. BB has a task list that works perfect. I DL an app for the Iphone called TO DO's but it sucked ... and try using the keyboard to touch your way through a task.. i wanted to pull my hair out.... right now its BB 4 me....
I tried the iPhone4, but the retina is pale and gray, the organic 3G/GS was better to hold. The OS is better, but still not that perfect what I'd expect from Apple, so maybe the iPhone5 will do. I tried a couple of BlackBerrys, htcs, Huaweis, the Galaxy S and ended up with a Samsung Wave. The OS is very good, despite of it's "newness", the hardware is the same as the iPhone4, so it insaney fast. It also has a 5mp cam with more advanced features like the iP4 (face-, blink detection, image stabilizer, in-camera processing, etc.). The bada app-store has over 1400 apps now, which is totally acceptable for an new platform that was released in May-June.
