In my garage mid-summer was a beefy E60 M5. It is a very muscular car, lots of strong body angles and running gear that doesn't mess around. The black sapphire mettalic paint was fantastic too. TONS of metal flake in the paint made it great to look at but played havoc with my camera when trying to capture correction shots. Seriously, there is gold, violet, green, blue, silver and red metal flakes in this paint type. Car was stripped down of some fairly strong LSP and put through a 2-stage polish, details below. LSP was in the form of 2 coats of Power Lock followed by CG 50/50 paste wax over the course of a few days. light coating of brake dust on the wheels Swirls in the dirty paint go IKEA brush go! Dirt in the lug nut area gonzo! That is how an M wheel should look Car was foamed multiple times and scrubbed w an MF mitt as customer had some decent levels of protection on the paint. Touchless air drying After cleaning, I pulled the car in to inspect the paint Nasty scratches in the ppf were eventually were eventually reduced by about 70% On to polishing, car was hit with Power and then Super Finish on a white/yellow pads with the rotary before correction after correction Notice the scratches around the BMW emblem, probably from fingernails and keys when opening the trunk After first round of PF only a few light defects remain Before PF After PF 50/50 of rear bumper deck Wheels receiving CG wheel wax Bottom half of door corrected, notice the flash trail only extends upward along the uncorrected portion Polishing away the day Before on the driver side skirt After polishing Disaster! Rotary stopped working during polishing. Had to take it apart and fiddle a bit, but eventually got it going Nasty water spotting on passenger side front of hood, had to break out the wool and SIP for these No more water spots Notice the etching to the left of the blue tape After wool and SIP, tape outline is still there for reference If I'm polishing the car, I can't leave the license plate frame looking like this now can I?! probably not the OSHA approved method for this All better Slapped on an addititonal coat of wheel protection, CG Acrylic Blitz Done with polishing, here are some shots under garage lighting and flash First of two applications of Power Lock curing Trunk before After (applied some leather protectant to the manuals and vacuumed up the carpet CG 50/50 paste wax curing. great job! saffire black looks really good when it's free of swirls. only thing i don't like about bmw paint is the orange peel of the doors.

do u use power lock on the glass as well? the porsche you did looked like it had PL on it and I was wondering if you do this with all ur customers cars godoman
Thanks! You're right, I did use it on the porsche and this car. Was really just trying it out back then. It did not buff off well of the Porsche glass, but did not have issues on the M-car. Haven't checked back with the owners on durability. Did get a bottle of japanese window polymer from dsms that I am loving! ha, yah it just sort of came out... definitely Thanks! Thanks!
Thanks. I got to drive it too, what a beast! Thought it was accelerating quickly and then around 6000rpm the vanos? must have kicked in because it took off like a jet engine had been strapped on. I was squealing like a 5 year old on Christmas morning.
