This was another tough job, especially on the interior. The car is a VW Jetta TDI that was purchased 6 years ago, and has never been detailed or cleaned, just vacuumed. The leather seats were some of the worst I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot. The outside had various dings and scratches but the owner just wanted is freshened up, so I did a quick one step polish to bring back the shine. The Process The interior was vacuumed with a Rigid Propak Dash and vents were brushed out with a Swisswax brush The vinyl was cleaned with PG 99 The leather was also cleaned with PG 99 and a medium stuff brush and micorfibers I also used a Mr Clean Eraser on parts of the leather with lingering stains, brushing the leather with the sponge and not rubbing too hard. The carpets were cleaned with AM 777 and Extract and a Aztec Hot rod The exterior was washed with AM Wash and Wax Then the cars was spritzed with Iron Cut especially on the lower panels The car was clayed with AM Blue Clay and body shine Rewashed Polished with HD and LD Flex rotaries using 3 and 5 inch Green GI pads and UCCL Wiped with Aquasol and sealed with Collinite 845 via a PC and Red GI pad The wheels were cleaned with 2 shots of PB Spray and Rinse and the tire were cleaned with AG CWC The tires were dressed with a solvent based dressing Glass cleaned with Sprayway The Before The seats were really bad The outside needed work as well
wow, kudos for taking on that grime mate ive seen quite a few cars now in similar condition on our local forum, and i just cant believe people let their cars get that dirty.....and its not so much a detailing issue, but more hygiene
What a mess, unreal. People can be filthy. I am surprised you were able to take six years of brake dust off those wheels...
of course it's a North American TDI owner! i'm surprised you could actually convince them it needed to be cleaned nice turn around! i hope you were wearing your gloves, you don't want to catch whatever was in there!
thanks gents, the leather on this felt like vinyl. After is was scrubbed and scrubbed and scrubbed the leather felt like leather again. 6 yrs of grime is a whole lot
