A week or so ago I gave my car a thorough wash with CG Citrus Clear and clayed with Bilt Hamber SOFT. For this winter, I figure I'd go with Duragloss, so I break out the 601 and all's well.

When I reach for the 105, I notice its consistency is a bit thick. So I shake that sucker up a bunch and it's not much of an improvement. I rummage through my collection and notice I really don't have another sealant that's as quick and easy to apply; I was disappointed with my BH Auto-Balm application process a month or so earlier so I didn't want to bother with that.

So, do you guys think the duration of protection with the DG105 is compromised? I only applied one layer. As far as wax toppers are concerned, I could throw some Smaragd, RBOE, Purple Haze, or Souveran on top of it...I'd rather not use another layer of 105.

OR...is there a new hotness sealant out there that I should try out? Menz Power Lock mebbe?

Nice to see you back bud! The 105 should be fine. As long as it acts the same and smells the same, I would not be concerned. Was it exposed to extreme temps or anything? I have mixed DG 601 and 105 which will thicken it up considerably, and it still works fine for me. (PM me if you want info on mixing them...I've been doing it to great success). I suspect you'll be fine with it. The power lock had everyone talking. For me, the new cat's ass are the nano coatings: Opti Coat, Cquartz and Gtechniq C1. That's the future of coatings if you ask me.

Thanks richy...I figured as much but I've been so outta the know detailing product-wise that I had to make sure.

I checked out your vid comparing Opti Coat and CQuartz (or was it AQuartz?)...very cool!

It'd be great stuff for those of us that ride our motorcycles in the rain. My bike is filthier than my car!

you can also mix DG 501 with 601 to clean the paint a little, then apple 105 mix with 601 for sealant.
I think richy recommend 3:1 mixture. 1 part of 601 bonding agent with 3 parts of 501 or 105.
