I use to ride back in the day 20 inch BMX/Freestyle Bikes anyone else here do the same.... Anyway I'm reliving the old days by visiting bmx sites. BMX Museum Vintage BMX etc... GT's were my thing.
Yup, I used to ride 10+ years ago and am finally getting back into it. I just disassembled my Free Agent Ground Zero race bike and Hoffman Butcher street bike. At one point in time I sought the mag wheels but glad I didn't get them, LoL.
I picked up the 2009 Haro Master (retro) I'm building out an 85 GT Pro Performer right now, I guess the fun part is meeting other people doing the same thing..... I'm looking for an 04 Haro Freestyler (Retro/250 built) I just picked up 2 sets of 36h gt super lace wheels.... Its been quite difficult to source out Dia Compe Nippons as well as a gen 1 Gyro.
I use to ride a haro bike too when i was in my teen. Can't remember most of the parts, i think is called something like jackhammer bar, alex rim, graveyard disc? Back then we are pretty crazy over Dave mirra, ryan nyquist, jay miron, matt hoffman. Are they still competing?
i had a gt it was awesome. i put a redline sprokit on the back. along with other things. then it got stolen.
man i miss flat land stuff. I use to Have a Dave Mirra Haro Bike . . . . . all chrome. THough it was heavy when i had it about 10 years or so ago it was a great bike. I wouldn't mind getting back into things today but i would have to start all over since i haven't done anything like that in over 10 years.
I remember when BMX riders used to be heros to teens. Not saying they aren't now but the craze has definitely dulled a bit since the good days.
seems like you were riding when its was old school going over to new school. i think on the boards its called mid school. all those parts and riders were from the mid to late 90's. mira I believe now drivers for subaru. mat hoffman owns hoffman bikes and I don't believe rides anymore.
i had 2 BMX's stolen when I used to race a long time ago. I had a number of Dyno's, then GT's. It's what got me into mountain bike racing, then road racing.
i have a picture of my 87 haro master on my fridge to this day ! how i miss it. and the endless riding around the neighborhood.
I used to have an 86 GT Pro Performer in white, Skyway tufwheel II wheels with slicks, man that thing was cool back in the day. I'm not sure who punished who more, but after 6 years, I sold it at a yard sale, one inch from death. As much as I'd like to have it back, I'd look silly as hell on it.
I miss the good ol' days of BMX riding. This was one of the inspirational movies that got me into the whole scene. Rad (1986) Everytime I watch this film it brings back memories. :headbang: I wish I still had my bike....
LOL... wow... flashback!! I used to ride a GT Performer all those years ago... times have changed. Back then it was cool, but seems silly to say so now, but mine was like a day glow pinkish color with white accents everywhere including the wheels, grips, pegs, and cables. Heck, the bike was built in '86... it was the late 80's... this bike was COOOOOOL. It was pretty much this exact bike: My older cousin and I used to use the back of my uncles construction yard to build doubles, tabletops, berms, and launches... I'll have to see if I can find a pic of us riding.
Dylan sick!!!!! I'm trying to find a day glow pink gt pro freestyle tour right now lol You should see my warehouse with parts nothing like Mr Pitale but I'm hooked again...
