Wtf are you taliking about. Call pizza hut and order 8 pizzas and 2 cases of Coke. 8-10 ppl will fit fine in a 2 car garage. Just do this at your house. Why do you need a rental car/insurance?(unless your afraid of the burn throughs you will be doing) With your client base you can't find someone that would love a full paint correction for free :shakehead:

Especially for someone who only has 2 years of part time expierence. Unless maybe David is going to devote some time to teach "How To Photoshop A Pic" :giggle:

That actually is quite insulting. I would actually be happy to go to that class, and pay $1000 for something I'll learn from it...David is a master detailer, to who millionaires trust their $550k Porsche (what have you detailed, chevy cavalier?)...That kinda reminds me when you were critising Paul Dalton, saying that he is not that great of a detailer, or something like that, because you simply don't have any respect for them, you are jelous, flash gordon...
Didn't you get banned for this in a first place off this forum?
Show some respect for other detailers, if you EVER want to be proffessional.
Also, maybe you can arrange a detailing class in Memphis, TN, and see how many members of this forum want to stop by your house...
David is doing it proffessionally. He is not doing it at his house because he doesn't need for everyone to know where he lives (I wouldn't). Rentail car with insurance can be a test vehicle, plus he will buy some test panels for people to practice (maybe even burning paint to see what it means)...doing it on a clients car would mean be using it as a "lab rat"...I wouldn't do it, unless you wanna loose clients...
I would go, but with many other expenses+not enough free time would not be able to do this at the moment. Maybe he will be able to do it in a west coast one day, if he gets enough members interested...

Well that's not really what I meant. A person can do something right for a year, and someone could do something wrong for 50. I suppose I jumped the gun with pricing because I really don't know what it includes, but I would hope a lot. Then again, I never intend to turn detailing into a profession, so I could never justify spending that much.

I think this is going to be a hands on class, you will be doing the work on the car not Dave, its an instructional class.

I don't think any of his clients are going to give you their MC 112 or even their smart car for newbies to play around with. LOL

  6. We are talking about a 18/19 year old kid who is known to photoshop his work. If David can find enough idiots to pay this fee, my hats off to him, but quite frankly I don't see it happening. Brian Brice & Todd Helme held a 2 Day Class last month and they only charged $85 for both days. How can you justify this kinda coin being charged :shead:

usually if u have 10 people register , you are lucky if 3 show up. is how people are.
and i don`t see people to arrange fly /hotel /rental and put down deposit... to many variables/risk / expensive ,
but all i wish you is good luck. u do great job and i bet who`s gonna attend will leave with a lot of knowledge.

This class just like any other class in the world is going to be what you take from it. It isn't about the price, but DSMS has to make it worth it for himself. He's sharing his own techniques. It's always going to be up to you to find it worth it or not. Did it ever hurt you to learn more information about something you like?

There's no need for you to pick at random facts and unjustly judge his skill based on it.

I blew your cover, didn't I? Actually it's emotional smilies that you use ALL THE TIME that blew your cover, only flash gordon used as many as you are...

Dude, now you just being jelous...jelous because how you say "18-19 year old kid" will be teaching others, and making money, which makes me think you are older the 18-19, yet not acting very mature...
Now, do you know that jelousy is what turned an angel into the devil in the first place...you are jelous, and then you start hating those that make more money then you...WHY? There will always be people younger then me or you that will be making more money, driving far more expensive cars...as a matter of fact there are people that are in there 20's and making millions of dollars a year... that's just the way life is, don't be jelous, and don't be a hater...
As far as photoshopping, have you ever even used that program? I have, but have not seen "remove swirls" option...Beautiful pictures are not from photoshopping, but from a proffessional grade camera/good lens. Now as far as Todd Helme, although I haven't been at any of his classes, but let's be honest, I really doubt that he at that class give everyone ALL HIS SECRETS of his signature polishing/detailing...I wouldn't...he probably covered up the basics, plus threw a few tips here and there...but hey, you can always ask him...
Don't be jelous, jelousy really kills people, jelousy is the very first sin...

Since Dave learned everything he does from me he is golden........................ seriously Dave has picked up some stuff from me here and there(although people have called him a "Bob Willis" clone and worse lol) he has worked with me side by side and can CORRECT paint 100% period.

Dave has moved up the ranks fast(as in "fastracker") due to talent, quick thinking and just being the "J" I can assure you @ 18/19 years old I was not running a biz(playing minor league baseball and screwing off) was what I was doing so maybe it is time to cut him some slack and acknowledge what he can do once and for all.

Charge over a thousand dollars make it a weekend throw in polishes pads and a polisher, give the option to learn with rotary or orbital and I think you would have a great turnout. (I'm sure Phil and some of our good sponsors could assets you).

first good post in this thread.

I think people are overseeing this as being a "feeler", which clearly means the first post is just FYI only. I would think other details will be added over time.

    Good luck Dave :thumb:

I know there are other out there beside me that does a more simplistic gathering for free. If I recall, the boys at polishedbliss hold them for free as well. Not knocking Dave, but I believe others feel its his lack of cutting his teeth in the business for a long enough duration of time. Best of luck but you really can't compensate for lack of years. I would love to learn from a guy like ken or richy who have been kicking it for a long time. Does anyone remember a time before automotive clay was invented?

I think that some of you guy's just don't get it!! It's a feeler, not a punching bag!! If you don't have anything good to say, don't say it AT ALL!! He's not forcing anyone to attend. If he charges $1 or $1,000,000 who cares! If it means that much to you than you'll attend at any cost. He's trying to reach the guy's who are just learning and want to push there level farther! Quit all your bitching! For guy's who are so concerned about his age, he is acting even more like an adult by not even responding to half of these silly posts! Half of these ADULTS can't spell to save your a@#!! Or write a complete sentence! It seems like when ever somebody tries to something nice, the doubters and haters come out of the woodwork. Like Bob said, Dave's farther along in life than most of us at 18-19! From the looks of it his CLIENTS don't seem to have a problem with his age! A sucessful business while furthering his education is a big accomplishment today!! So how about we try this, if your not interested in the class, you just not make any remarks! Just move on!
