I have been wanting to put together a paint correction class for a very long time now and hopefully soon I will be able to make it happen, just looking for your feedback.

    What will be taught?

The class will be 1 full day dedicated only towards paint correction and everything associated with paint correction. No washing, claying or interior detailing steps will be covered!

Basically the class will show you step by step how to perform paint correction as follows:

-Addressing the type of paint finish and which method of correction you need to go about refinishing it. I will focus on the following: Hard Clears, Sticky Clears, Soft Clears and Single Stage paint.

-Taking proper paint readings, addressing problem areas

-Masking and combo testing products pads and machines

-Compounding and Cutting stage, different methods using mainly rotary and some DA machines

-Polishing stage, how to effectively remove compounding haze or perform less aggressive cutting

-Finishing stage, how to safely finish down ANY paint finish without holograms or micro marring

-Rotary Jeweling, how to bring out maximum gloss and depth by jeweling a paint finish with the rotary

-Paint Film/Clear film polishing, how to remove defects from 3M plastic paint film without causing damage

    ________________________

Each person attending the class will get as much "seat time" as possible using various machines, pads and polishes on both free standing panels and the test car itself.

After understanding the basic concepts everyone will spend time performing each of the above correction steps with me instructing them on how to safely perform each step with the machine they are using.

Other things that will be addressed in the class. Product choice, microfiber towels (which to use and when), IPA wipedowns and dilutions for specific paints, using both LED and Halogen light sources and everything else that revolves around the paint correction aspect of detailing.

This class is not just about polishing paint, all other areas (some explained above) of paint polishing will be addressed.

I want to make this as informative, hands on, fun and effective as it can be. This is a complete crash course with NO BS! I will tell you what products work and what products do not!

Please let me know if you guys are interested. I will say UNDER 10 people will be admitted to any 1 class. This allows for a more personal approach and ensures everyone gets to spend a lot of time testing and learning the how to correct paint.

If there is anything you guys feel would be beneficial to learn or want to learn about post it up.

Price for this class has yet to be decided but I promise you it will not come cheap. I am giving away my trade secrets, tips and tricks in hopes to make even a novice become very effective at paint correction while also teaching them how to be PROFITABLE while doing it! If your in the beginning stages of your detail business or are thinking about starting one or just want to advance you skills, this class without a doubt speed up your learning curve and SAVE YOU TIME in the future by cutting out the nonsense and focusing only on WHAT IS PROVEN to work!

The class will be open to anyone from anywhere but please note it will be held in New Jersey (not at my home detail studio but a fixed location elsewhere) Of course refreshments and lunch will be served during the course of the day.

    Thanks for your feedback!

That is really tempting. I am really interested as long as the date works for me. I will be driving up from Northern VA. Learning how to use a rotary from a professional is great as I have never used one before (of course as long as the price is reasonable)

I think having a class is a great idea. I'm interested, but I'm also a beginner who is more interested in working on my own car for fun and not to start a business. I don't intend to sound cheap, but will you offer a "personal use" price if we sign a no-compete clause or something?

LOL, I second that. Detailing is not my profession also, I just do it as a hobby for family and close friends without charging anything.

After the first class, if it comes to pass, I wouldnt mind at all doing some other versions of it to accommodate the weekend warrior crowd.

This is all just brainstorming of course:afro:
