At the last minute, I decided to take Journalism this year-my senior year in high school. This means that I'm on the newspaper staff. I thought it would be interesting to do a column/review section about cars, something that has never been done before. Our teacher and the other staff members thought it was a good idea, right now I'm about to start a sample review/column (whichever I decide to write) just to see what I can do and what it'll be like. Here are a few ideas I've had so far: What are affordable new cars for students? Where is a good place to buy used (Local places for the most part) Proper maintaince-when to take your car in for service. Good local shops (perhaps this goes with maintaince?) Taking care of your car-interior/exterior care Ways to save money-economical driving tips Ways to save on insurance What do y'all think? I will be asking questions on here for sure, especially with the interior/exterior care section. So many students don't properly maintain their cars, yet they wonder why they are always breaking down or why their car looks like crap. I figured this would give me a chance to help some people out, and learn more myself. Clark
Living the dream.... My school didn't have anything worth writing for (it was really ran by administrators, and students just did the typing and put their names on it). Anyway, what your doing is fantastic. I'm only six years out of high school, but I'm still living by automotive principles I think any student would benefit from. :thumb:
maybe write an article about proper auto detailing...tech some students how to take care of their pride and joy!
I'd love to do that, perhaps as a feature. I really love our newspaper, the administration has to approve what we print but other than that we do all the work and research and everything. I'll keep everyone updated on what I end up doing
Thats pretty cool! My school paper sucked! Never had the skill to write in it but I would have loved to see some interested columns! I think a lot of those are good idea's just try to keep it at a level that most people can understand or at least the ones that would actually take something from it.
