Here is a Jaguar XKR that i Detailed recently. This was a Paint correction only, the owner didn't want the interior,Engine, or the convertable roof done, eventhough they desperately needed Detailed.I cleaned the wheels, dressed tyres, cleaned the exterior glass,Exhaust tips etc,as i couldn't leave these areas untouched.I had viewed the car the week before, where i explained the process to the owner, and made a general assesment of the cars condition.I also took this opportunity to take my Paint thickness readings, which averaged 200microns over the whole car.Talking to the owner revealed the car had been maintained by the local splash and dash company for the last five years, resulting in swirled and scratched paint, and paint blistering of the Alloy wheel finish due to aggressive acid based wheel cleaners :shakehead: My process was as follows, Started at the wheels using Billberry, long reach tampico wheel brush, and an EZ wheel brush.Used an Envy detail brush around lug nuts and smaller areas. Wheel arches were cleaned with BH Surfex. Tyres were cleaned with BH Surfex. Door shuts and boot appature with BH Surfex and an Envy detal brush. After a thorough rinsing,i washed using Meg shampoo plus using the 2BM,rinsed and dried with uber plush Drying towels. I clayed the paint and glass using Sonus green and ONR as my lube.Rinsed and dried off again. After taping up,i trialed several Polish/pad combinations, working up to Meg#105 on a cutting pad which was working well on the swirls, but wasn't clearing the many RIDS.I settled on Gtechniq P1 on a wool cutting pad, using my old Rupes Rotary. This had the desired effect, and obviously the paint was pretty hard.I finished out the paint after this with P1 on a Menzerna polishing pad.I didn't get the chance to perform another step and jewel the finish due to time, but the owner was very happy and that's all that matters.I then waxed the paint with Chemical Guy's 50/50.I cleaned the exterior glass with KAIO,polished the wheels with KAIO and used Poorboy's pro polish on the door shuts followed by 50/50. Here are some before shots A couple of progress shots All after's As my camera isn't the best, here's a slideshow and brief walk around video that i put together. Many thanks for looking:thumb: YouTube - Jaguar XKR Exterior Detail
