Just thought I'd share one of the many reasons that I love my job (detailing) One of my customers drives a Bentley Continental GT and needs to get it to Atlanta for service (about a 2 1/2 hr drive from here). The a/c in the car's broken and he doesn't want to drive it that far without air. So, he calls me up and says "hey i got a job for you." He's paying me to drive the car to Atlanta to get it fixed and giving me his credit card to have a day out in ATL on him. The downside is, I have to be on the road by 4 am tomorrow morning. But, given the circumstances, I can deal with that
Let's make it even sweeter: with what he's paying you, get an escort and just ball out of control for the day in HOTLANTA! PS: take some pics...
It may just be a bad battery. Went through the same thing last month with a Continetial. Car would crank right up, everything would function fine except A/C. Probally a good idea though to go ahead and take her in for a looksy anyway though. Enjoy yourself :meditation:
Talk about someone who puts their trust in you, thats awesome and a great testiment to the realtionship you have with the client. 2 things I have to ask? 1) Did you discuss insurance issues, speeding tickets etc? Maybe you should print up a waiver and have both parties sign to agree you cannot be liable for any damage or issues that come up. 2) Did you search the car for a kilo of blow? Seriously, you never know
Last thing you want is the cops tailing you with a kilo of COLUMBIAN BAM BAM strapped under the car :dupe: -Reese Bobby
I don't know about you guys but if someone told me to take a day out on there buck I would have a really hard time buying even more than a sammich and a coke without feeling bad.
That is amazing. I officially dislike you. Strongly. Seriously though, have fun and let us know what type of shenanigans you get into.
Thats amazing, along with the drugs strapped to the bottom of the car I would check for a body in the back. But you're a detailer a little steam and shampoo and you'll get the blood out.
I appreciate the concern guys. Fortunately, my insurance would cover anything that happens just fine, and even if it didn't, his would. (we definitely had this conversation) I've known this guy for a long time now...actually longer than I've been detailing. He's my best client...the kind of guy you do some work for and he pays you $100 more than you ask. Definitely got lucky getting hooked up with him. Should be a fun day, but I don't plan on getting too crazy. I'll let yall know how it goes.
Update: made it to the dealership in atlanta (btw the bentley sounds incredible in tunnels) to find out that they don't have the parts in stock that they need to fix it. so, i'll be driving back up there next week to pick it up. a note about the car: i know theres better cars out there, and i know its a bit of a volkswagen, but it really is a sweet ride. its VERY quick and handles very well for being so big, and at about 5:30 this morning i discovered the massaging seats... getting back into my honda this afternoon really sucked
Its easy to be critical of any car, until you drive it. Ever find yourself looking at a car magazine and trying to figure weather you would own a Gallardo or a Ferrari 430, then you drive either and realize it doesnt matter and your happy as hell to be in it:headbang: Good to see the drive was safe, the GT is one cool car any way you slice it!
That's a pretty sweet perk. The only perk o get at my job is that I get to work ad much overtime I want for free.
Are you kidding me? They make a car better than a Bentley? Lets review shall we. Turbocharged 12 cylinder, 552hp, 479lb ft at 1600 RPM!, 0-60 in 4.9, top speed of 195mph. Good god man, what do you want. If a bag of cash fell in my lap, I would be parking a Continental Flying Spur in my driveway.
