Hi, First of all I am new here so Hello Secondly,in a few days I will get my brand new car: Skoda Octavia metallic black. I live in a relatively hot place in the Middle East. the temp here is around the 30 celsius and in the winter around 20. Because this is a new car I think to protect the paint with wax. I need to put wax\sealant on a new car? Which wax\sealant should I use for metallic black paint? Do I need to do something before I applying wax\sealant? By the way I can't find here a good quality wax so I also need a good website with worldwide shipping. Of course it will be my first time doing this and I do not want to spend a lot of money. Thank you for your help.
Welcome, to DB! If you are on a budget, yet want a good wax with excellent durability, Collinite 915 is a way to go! http://www.detailersdomain.com/collinite-marquedelegance-no915.aspx If durability is not an issue, and you want very easy application - then get Lusso Oro - http://www.detailersdomain.com/lussooropremiumcarnaubawax.aspx another nice one is RBOE - Rubbish Boy's Original Edition If money is not an issue, then you can look into Swissvax waxes, some of the very nice ones, like Concorso. BTW, All forum certified dealers ship worldwide.
thansk for the answer, What is different beteween collinite 915 and 845? I Dont have much money (40usd), I need somethink with good durability to UV (summer) and something fit to black metallic paint and something easy to use because is a new car.
915 is a pure carnauba wax, offers deep/wet paint finish, 845 is more of a hybrid between sealant/wax. Both are very good, you cannot go wrong with either one...Durability is about the same too...
okay, 915!!!! hhh but Its easy to use? I need to do something before? I am really dont know, is not liquid
All depends on the condition of the paint surface. I know you say its new, but from experience, vehicles in transit get plastered with road debris. If you want to do it correct from the start, Id clay it (at least any areas rough to the touch), a polish, then seal, then 915. Just my 2 cents. If you are comfortable with the paint surface as is, then maybe seal (wait 24 hours) and apply 915. You may also just apply multiple layers of 915. Some of the veterans can help you out here.
Opti-Seal and Zaino Clear Seal are nice too, but I like the finish Collinite waxes give me better...P21S lacks in terms of durability, and Megs NXT - is a wax for beginners, there is NOTHING special about it... Collinite 845 is only $15 http://www.detailersdomain.com/colloniteliquidinsulatorwaxno845.aspx if you order it from Phil, plus shipping...
I order the 845 + towel and pad microfier + shipping is 15usd+5usd+17usd(shipping). from ebay, I live in the middle east far away from the US. This wax will be good enough for me? or I did a mistake ;0?
