No point rehashing this here too Sam, I think we've done enough on DW.
Suffice it to say, I'll reiterate what I said over there - the stock photo you've put up, may have been a pre-production sample set from when they were first manufactured, some 3 or 4 years ago.
The ones I've ever had, have only ever been as they are now, so I can't vouch for whether anything has changed or not.

in reference to the harsh feeling of the fibres - forgive me for presuming I think your disappointment in the 3" fabric length being less than expected, has spilled over.
There is nothing harsh about them whatsoever, and many of the UK Pros (Paul Dalton included) have ever raised any concern over the material, and its effect on wheels.
Certainly by all accounts, they are regarded as the best wheel brushes you can buy on performance level.

I take on board the slight issue over material coverage on the 3" brush, but in the over 18 months of having used just that one sample brush sent to me, I've never found myself thinking the lack of material was an issue - you just used shorter strokes.

The one aspect you're overlooking on the brush, is the material is deep pile, meaning it draws the dirt into itself, just like a good sheepwool wash mitt does, but there's no harm in rinsing the brush into a bucket more often, if it buys you peace of mind.
Just try it, and don't second guess how useful it may be.

    like i said on DW

we were talking about the Eimann brushes from PAC a few pages back, and you told me you had a few sets left

i asked for your GB link, 38 pages worth, read your first post and saw the same pic as used by PAC, so i made the assumption that was the product i'd receive - hence my dissappointment and thus link to the PAC site in my post

edit! agreed, ill give it a go next wash and post my feedback

Just to be absolutely clear, you have the EF brushes - PAC chose that name for them for their own marketing purposes.
Now that you have them, put your disappointment to one side, and give them a shot - you just may be suitably impressed enough to overlook the shorter-than-expected length of material.
But don't let me try and convince you - that's for you to do yourself.

WOW and I thought this kind of drama was reserved for nuba debates or even is Zaino made by DG but not wheel brushes...:afro:

As stated earlier, I have a full set and love them... they work great. Do they look exactly like what is pictured, no but they work... period. I didn't buy them based on the look, I bought them to clean wheels and they do a fine job of that

in all fairness to PJS, he has offered to give me my money back, minus what it'd cost me to ship back (which from Aus will be about half what i paid anyway)

it's cool, i will find a use for them - they would work great under the guards - the EZ Brush doesnt work so well under the guards as the rubber tip puts scuffs in the plastic liner

  8. PJS

    PJS Birth of a Detailer

A quick check with auspost showed the cost of shipping up to 250g (as they are inc the tube) would cost AU $11.35.
Substantially less than half the AU $78 paid.

I'm sorry I bloody well offered to help a fellow detailer out now - had I known this much hassle was going to ensue from doing so, I'd have said nothing.

Offer still stands if you'd rather "lose" $12, than regret having spent $78.
I'll be losing much the same once I've refunded you that amount, for shipping too - so we'd be equal on the loss front.

These are my last words on this matter, as the thread has been derailed quite enough.
Apologies to the OP, and the rest of you reading this thread for ideas on what to purchase next for wheel duties.

no Aus post will go by VOLUME weight due to the irregular size of the canister/tube

PJS, you had a "few sets left" and wanted to sell them. Please dont act like it was a good samaritan gesture - your group buy was a business transaction for you, which is totally understandable, and not a free service, as has already been pointed out on DW

    agreed, case closed

I have them and like them. The small and medium ones work well but you'll need nitrile gloves as the hard plastic handles get slippery easily.

  13. PJS

    PJS Birth of a Detailer

Sorry, but I disagree on your assumption - check the Auspost site for yourself. There's no mention of size limitations for Airmail, it just says letters and packets (or parcels).

As for the further assumption that it was a business transaction - wrong again!
I took pity on you wanting to try them, but moaning about how costly shipping from the US is.
That's why I offered to help you out, if Royal Mail's postage wasn't extortionate, because I had some sets spare, which had been planned all along for the last minute stragglers.

I'm sorry I never made the connection between the stock image's 3" brush, and the new one's - that's the only one I've ever known, but rather than contact me privately to say you were disappointed the two didn't tally, you decided to "out" me as a "jibber".
That remark alone is enough for me to consider citing you for slander!
And yet, through all my explaining on DW, and offering you a full refund (which I'm in no way obliged to do) you still don't have the decency to apologise for your unfounded slanderous remark.
That says bucketfuls about the sort of person YOU are, so don't try and pull the wool over any of our eyes that you've been hard done by.
The photos I took of the brushes when they landed, and those of other local detailers were in the link to the GB thread you asked for and received.
The fact you couldn't be arsed to do any form of research, and were so eager to take me up on my offer is a failing of your own making.

You also made it out that I contacted you by PM regarding these brushes - I edited my reply on DW to portray the correct chain of events, and if Nico or any moderator here wants to see a screen shot of the time the PM's were made, and tally that with the time of replies made openly here in the thread, I'll be more than happy to accommodate such a request.

You Sam, have chosen the wrong person to get the wrong side of - now either put up or shut up!
The offer still stands if you can be arsed to find out for definite, the cost of returning the brushes to me.
I'd sooner lose some £'s on shipping than have you continuing to gurn about how you've been lead up the garden path by me.
Moreover, your lack of comment on the other two brushes in the set suggests they're acceptable, so all THIS is over ONE brush that has about 1.5-2" less material up the length of the shaft/handle.

As said previously, I'm sorry I ever offer to help you get a set for a more acceptable price than if you'd ordered directly from PAC.

Apologies once more to the OP - any further replies from domino will go unheeded, and if you feel it pertinent to call upon Nico to remove some posts in this thread, I will understand and not object.
Sorry for having to go so so way off topic.

    domino Welcome to Detailing

    what a drainer

my post included a link to the PAC website, where are my slanderous remarks towards you personally?

on the contrary, your replies now take on a threatening demeanor and transparently potray a vendetta on a personal level

    goodbye

  15. PJS

    PJS Birth of a Detailer

I have no idea where your link to the EF's on PAC's site enters into anything, but if you want to explain YOUR definition of "jibbed", I'm all ears!

My own quick Googling brings up something to do with rigging on a sail boat, and the arm, but since we're not discussing sailing, and given the context of the use of the word, then the Urban Dictionary's most popular definition suggests it infers one being duped, conned, scammed or robbed.

So if you wish to correct my presumption on your intent to slander my character/reputation, then please do so, otherwise I'll presume you're going to offer up a retraction.

No doubt there's probably some other sites you're a member on, and have posted the exact same story on, which I am not able to reply to - no matter, but I'll bet you've not had the balls to link to this thread for those members to read my replies.

Instead of a private word over your concern via e-mail or PM, your first thought was to post up publicly, and warning others to steer clear of buying them.
That shows a level of maturity I'd have associated with a 5 year old.

As for my replies - don't try and pull the wool over our eyes for a second time Sam.
You instigated it all by your actions and words, I'm merely pointing out I'm not the type to give anyone free-reign to slander my good reputation and character here, or elsewhere.

Now, these are my very last words on this subject - so pay extremely special attention to them.
As I take my reputation and character very seriously, I am giving you one FINAL chance to return the brushes unused.
But within this third and final offer, there's a catch - instead of the $78 you paid, I'll refund you $90 to cover the $11 odd for postage.
If you've turfed the tube, you'll have to buy a new one.

The long and the short of it is you'll be barely out of pocket, I'll be the one carrying the can, which I again point out, I don't have to - you had ample info to see before paying that the 3" brush wasn't as per the stock image - since I'm not the manufacturer.
I'll bet you even PAC wouldn't offer the same if you'd bought the brushes from them.

So there you go - that's the sort of person I am, we already know what type you are.
The ball's in your court as to what you want to do - until midnight GMT.
If there's no reply accepting the offer, then I consider the matter concluded and never to be broached again.

+2 I still want a set despite the 3inch Woolie not having enough wool as advertised, I'm more concerned with how they perform and last.

once again, for the people in the cheap seats

you told me you had these Einmann brushes as per the PAC website, you used the PAC pic in your Group Buy original post, so i purchased them with the assumption that's what i was getting

what i received WAS NOT as per the PAC website, hence my dissappointment and comparison back to the PAC site, and thus got jibbed

as for the rest of your reply and continual degradation and personal attacks, i cbf

As stated, they perform and last... I have been using them on every job since I received my set from the PAC group buy. I have used my set with everything from a mild shampoo to a harsh acidic wheel cleaner and everything in between with ZERO delamination or loss of fibers
