Collinite over sealant??

For max durablility, can I put one of the Collinites over a sealant or is that a waste of time?

 

Yes, it's common practice providing the sealant has cured for about 24 hours. Lotsa folks up north do this due to the severe winters.

 

Yes. I usually let the Menz cure 24 hours then put a coat of SV Blau Weiss over it.

 

yep i too tend to use a sealant under a wax in winter weather

i have the blackfire wet ice kit on my car atm and once that starts to fade ill layer colly 915 over prima amigo + menz power lock

as much fun as i have testing carnauba waxes, the last few ive tried on my car have suffered water spots during our winter in Aus

 

I would almost say skip the sealant and do 2 coats of 845. I have used DG105 underneath 845 with good results, but 2 coats of 845 would be much quicker. Then top that with a nuba if you want (I don't think colli 845 can be classified as a nuba).

IME, Collinite 845 topped with Lusso Oro = win.

Never tried Lusso either. Might have to for shits and gigs.

845IW is a hybrid, sealant properties with the additional longevity of wax. You're already getting the best of both world's, IMO. I like the brightness of the shine, especially on white and lighter colors. On darker colors and metallics I've topped with 915 and other carnaubas for depth & glow and didn't think it was worth the extra effort. I felt some of the shine and slickness was lost by topping. Now if I do anything on top of 845 it's usually something like OCW or DGAW for a quick n easy refresh between details. YMMV.

collinite is awesome, it is so easy to use, I would put 2 coats and top with whatever nuba you want

 

Lay down a coat of Werkstat AJT topped with a layer of Collinite 845 and you'll be golden for the winter.

 

Is OK top it, but actually Collinite is great by its own, however I've used 845 + Vic red and I absolutely love that combo

Yes. I believe it's actually 476 (not 478). I have a pot of 476, but haven't touched it yet. I hear it's one of the most durable waxes.
