my mom bought this car in july, and I was waiting for a free weekend to work on it.....reason being ?? the lexus dealer had their " detailers" work on it at some point.....and this is what i found:

    not bad from far away

    little closer

    even closer

after one pass with PC LC yellow cutting pad and SIP

    fender / door shot.......fender polished

unfortunately by the time i got to the trunk...the backing plate wore through my yellow pad ( older version with the blue foam ) so i had to revert to my LC orange cutting pad

here's a couple shots after polishing only

Great job. That was some awful detailing by the dealership even for dealership standards.

You would thnk someone would catch on and/or complain about these idiots "detailing" cars in these places and they'd step up their game...but I guess not. Pretty annoying. Great recovery though.

I went to a local Lexus dealership a while back and they had a used, black (yea...great choice guys) '02 IS 300 that they decided to stick in the showroom...IN THE SHOWROOM!! You should have seen this thing...I literally couldn't believe they had it sitting in there. I told the sales guy I could detail it better than that in the middle of the night with no lights. Dealerships are funny.

thanks for the kind words guys.....

when she brought it home and i saw it in a shaded area i was like, hey this looks ok....could see some swirls.....

the next day in the sunlight, i was like WTF ?!?!!??!?!?
i showed my mom all the defects....she parks @ the train station and she would see the holograms everyday when she would get off the train in the evening.

now she says it looks like glass !!!

    dealership detailers = HACKS
