rust oleum tar & wax remover ...

Has anyone here used this new product?

I bought some today and I will be trying it out this weekend. I am looking for something stronger than tarminator without having to order/buy tardis.

This stuff is a pretty good alternative to Tarminator. It's less "oily" than tarminator, but it works a tad bit slower. The paint surface feels really clean after wiping it with a mf.

 

What are you using the product for? This thread is old but it's the only thread I found when searching for this product. I just bought this Rustoleum Wax & Tar remover from Walmart. I'm using it to clean and prep a car for painting. I've bought it before from Walmart. The only thing is that it smells different. So I'm not sure if it's the same stuff. I know what it smells like. This stuff smells like diluted windex.

 

I purchased this stuff from Walmart also. I use it to clean up polish residue, works great and the price is right!

FYI I emailed Rust-Oleum to ask if this is safe for use on clear coat and paint work because the bottle does not explicitly say so. Here is the response I received.

 

I use this product for tar removal and wiping polish. It works well for polish removal, but Tarminator works faster on tar spots.

My biggest complaint is that it makes the MF smell like gas when you pre-soak them before washing them. I have stopped using this because of this issue.

 

Just demote those mf's for when you need to make a molotav cocktail!! (Aren't I helpful?? )
