Never heard of them, but I guess that's due to them being overseas.

Their sales reps have made a habit of cold calling our dealers lately and sending them some pretty amusing claims in their sales material... outside of that I don't know much about it.

They are usa based as far i know and found only one uk supplier.

Hi dylan i'm always up for trying other products. i product tested adams polishes here in the uk for roger from autojoy.co.uk and have done a few shows with him promoting adams polishes, the following is growing slowly but as you know the maket is over whelmed with products and my cupboard is stuff full lol [most of it collecting dust].
It's good to try new stuff...

Glare isn't bad but i don't see their products around much. I have only used the glare spider:

when i tried out there stuff it was a while ago when i first started to use a pc and it worked out not bad. My buddy also swears by the glare spider as well. The only one who will really be able to make that judgment call is you though. Some folks like different things and what works for others may not work for you and vise versa.

    PRODUCT INFO:

GLARE SPIDER with Glassplexin is the most advanced swirl removing product ever created. Utilizing a unique chemical process of ultra pure metal interlinked fusion to Glassplexin particles, GLARE SPIDER will physically and chemically remove circular swirls and the appearance of spider webs in the paint, including on black paint even when viewed in direct sunlight. GLARE SPIDER is not a cover up product, but a technologically advanced swirl removal solution that will permanently correct 99% of the swirls that appear in your paint which are caused by automated carwashes, hard water, dust, and dirt. Unlike other products that are sold as swirl remover products, GLARE SPIDER actually works and does exactly what the label says it will do. GLARE SPIDER will correct even the heaviest level of swirls and should always be followed with an application of GLARE MICRO-FINISH or GLARE PROFESSIONAL POLISH. GLARE SPIDER has been designed to also work excellently on plastic too!

Thanks for replies chaps, glare does not get much air time on the uk forums this maybe due to marketing [ a lack of ] but i am looking forward to giving the products a go, we have added another van to our fleet so this will be the test vehicle.

Glare is one of the product lines I use in my professional shop
there are three different ways to use them and you must not use them like you would an abrasive polish

please note : the products sold in Australia (where I'm from) are a far superior version with 99% active ingredients and 1% drying agent (thats what the guy who imports it said)
its easier to apply and you use less.

the american stuff (am over in america right now for another week and have tried it) has alot more drying agent and seems to be reduced down in quality
products are dryer, more is needed, doesnt give the same finishes and are not worth buying

glare is not used by many pro's because of the pricing and many are set in their ways and refuse to believe in anything but abrasives

some of their claims are unfounded but most are real
its best applied at speed 1 - 2 on a rotary and DA polisher for magnifying the lustre and 3 - 4 on the rotary or speed 5 on PC to fill in scratches etc

The best two sealants in the range are Infinity Plus and Advanced. two and four times as good as the american Pro Polish
these are only available in Australia

spider is brilliant on glass and plastic/urethane. I dont like it on paint

So a product that is made in the USA does not work as well as the version sold "down under" because.............. VOC issues/silicon's in the product make up ?.....work with me here because I am very motivated to hear the answer.

My biased opinion(due to the fact I am stuck on abrasives to level painted finishes,as does every industry that has to polish substrates whatever that may be ie: wood, stone, etc...) I wonder if granite counter top in kitchens that have them are "chemically levelled" to produce the clarity and smoothness of the finished product.

I have seen Glare up close @ SEMA one year being demonstrated and the results were shall we say "not up to par" imho of course.

I could be wrong about all this though, remember the importer told you so and with that it must be true:dupe:.

Glassplexin is not a real word. Also, I believe this is the product they were showing off at SEMA. They were claiming they could "move" clearcoat around to fill scratches, which is IMPOSSIBLE. Clearcoat is hard due to a catalyzed reaction, if you were to move the clearcoat around, it would be GONE.

I believe this is the claim Dream Machines made on another forum where he "re-flows" the clear.

I guess the laws of physics cease to exist in his "professional detail shop". :crasy:

So glassplexin is b/shit sales banter.
Either way we'll enjoy the day playing with another product, i,ll make some space on the shelf in the workshop that every one has, the shelf full of products collecting dust if its a fail to impress lol

The product that was probably shown at SEMA was called Zero. I have used the polish before and it's quite an interesting product to use. Yes it does go against most of what everyone practices here, but that product is something else in its own league.

Glare was one of the lines that I started to use a few years ago when I first bought my truck. My classmate from high school took over his fathers detail business down here and had become the exclusive distributor for them. I have used nearly their whole line of products and while some do work indeed, most of it is essentially fillers.

Zero works to chemically heat up your clear coat by the use of your rotary and friction. It heats up the clear to the point where it's soft enough to level out and feather the scratch back into the clear coat. In theory, you are not removing the clear but sort of re-allocating it around the area of the scratch. I recently got a sample from my friend to try out on a scratch I have on a panel of the bed. Legacy99 was kind enough to lend me his PTG and upon pre and post readings on the exact same spot of where the scratch was, only one micron was removed.

Now talk of the australian vs the US version opens up a whole new can of worms, but when I was using Glare I was happy with the results for what it was worth. Hope this helps.

Thanks kaleo, a filler heavy product has it's place so i don't mind that, as for the zero polish we dont have
that here, sounds like a product thay can cause more problems than it fix's.

Yea from what my friend told me, Zero was designed for professional use and/or body shop use. I would figure depending on the condition of the paint it would be incorporated into a one or two step polish regimen.

When I used it on my panel, I only tried two passes as I was pressed for daylight and time. Also the Makita I was using was acting up with its power cord so I couldn't have a true test of its potential. Though as you mentioned earlier, if used incorrectly it will be able to delaminate the paint resulting in potential "twisting." From what I have witnessed and personal experience, it works nicely on leveling out orange peeled paint and key scratches before jeweling. When you keep working it into the paint, it has the ability to warp plastic and metal panels, but of course that's working it way past what's necessary.

  20. You can only repackage/relabel a product so many times before the ppl finally wise up :duh:
