Got behind a moron in a tractor trailer today, stayed back my usual 4-5 car lengths, but still heard a PING. Thought it was off the windshield until I got home and found a nice chunk out of the top of my fender.

Anyway, my main PC is out of commission and this is on my phone so I can't search that great, can anyone find me a thread detailing how to effectively get rid of chips? I've never sanded anything on my car so I'm worried about that. I did find this thread, which seemed to have good results:

Overall, how hard is it? The paint is just red, nothing metallic, but I am still wild about this. God I hate trucks, they should be confined to the right lane, there is absolutely no reason for them to ever pass anyone.

That article was right on. Just follow the instructions and you'll be fine.

I've never polished or buffed with a tool before, would compound really work to remove the scratches just as well? Maybe I'll try on my other car first in case I screw it up more. Knowing my luck I'll scratch it and not be able to get rid of the scratches.

a PDR place damaged the paint on my G35 on the quarter panel driver side. he stripped the clearcoat and basecoat, but the primer is still there... should i touch this up with a brush or spray can? my last resort is to repaint the entire quarter...
