Vehicle going to Concorso today, had the "Bing" come out for the week to help with this car and a Maserati Gran Turismo. This car was in bad shape as you will see in the initial pics, so here it is. Customer requested something be done about the severe orange peel on the finish, and I explained it can be done ..........but the vehicle would have to have healthy paint readings and I would do 3000 grit as opposed to 1000/1500/2000 etc so there would be enough for clear for future corrections. Here is the start of that part of the correction. The "Bing" removing the Ferrari badge. Compounding the area with edge wool pad 6" size. The "Bing" doing his part on the tight areas. Corrected. 50/50 pics of sanded area and compounded/corrected adjacent area. Pic of the "Bing" taking a pic. Side panels, big improvement on the texture. Reflection on passenger door. Rear bumper. Application of LSP, Menzerna Powerlock. Richie removing the plastic missed in the PDI when the car was sold. My "usual" pic of a 50/50 of the exhaust can. All done. Interior work. Re-attachment of badge. Ball polished wheels looking thier best. Engine pic. Interior pic. Sun pic time. We did not get the best sun pics as this was 7:30/45 PM and we almost did not make it. All finished ready for the show.
Impressive work as usual from you! Question, how many microns was taken off with you using the 3000 grit sandpaper. Thanks, Marcus
Is the misconception that you only work on "pristine" cars dead yet? If its not this thread should do it... killer work Bob and Richie. If there ever was a car deserving of a YoSwirl yogurt break this would be it!
Nice work guys! What did you guys end up using for wet sanding the Ferrari? Is it an air DA? If so, what kind of compressor as well? I'm thinking of investing in one and was curious what you two used.
