Hey everyone, Again, nice to be posting up my work online for everyone to see. This car had just over 230,000km on it and from what I can tell had never been detailed. It's been washed, but that's the extent of everything that's been done to it. The owner was going to be selling it very soon and needed it prepped before sale as he had just replaced this baby with a 335i coupe. It was a challenge, but these are my favourite cars to do because the transformation is usually very dramatic. I had my assistant work on the interior while I blasted the exterior with polish twice and a sealant. Claying this car took a lot of time as well because there were so many rust spots, rail dust or debris. The sections of clay I show are only after one small panel. One side note is that I polished the headlights with Optimum Polish (new formula) with an orange and white pad then plastix. I did the exhaust with blue magic cream. Wash & Dry - Washed with Poorboys SSS Wheels & Tires - P21S on the wheels, ARO on the tires, 3:1 Zep Citrus on wheel wells Clay - Ricardo Blue clay + lube Polish - SIP - XMT360 Seal - Klasse SG BEFORE shots: exterior: interior: wheels&tires: foaming: claying (just one panel): second panel: after: interior: engine: exhaust: artsy shots: Thanks for looking guys, I'll do my best to post another write-up soon.
looking good man. I guess it's safe to say the wheels were never washed before LoL. Man they were brown.
Great turn around! and DAMN those wheels were filthy lol Artsy shot looks good too, i like the reflection (even though its hard to capture that on a light colored car)
Nice job. Reading this thread reminded me that I have to work on the wife's car soon. What was your process for cleaning up the lights?
Nice. Just a question... I have a vehicle this weekend with the same "brown" spots on the rims (where the spokes meet the outer rim) and I have tried previous chems with no luck in removing it... I was planning on taking a bit of compound to the spots to remove... But it looks like you got it in the wash step! How did you do it!
Well depends. Follow the rule of least aggressive to max aggressive chemical first. Start with soap, wheel cleaner, then p21 gel. Use a brush. Elbow grease usually out does many compounds. A pressure washer is invaluable as well for rinsing.
