If you can't tell what that last picture is, it's a reflection shot lol. Definitely wasn't the best work that could have been done, but I only had roughly 5 hours to do it, so I gave it my best shot.
Nice job, but you got your pictures mixed, so it's hard to tell which is before and which is after. Still a great job for only 5 hrs.
I know, I was too lazy to organize them. I am sure people will figure it out, haha. Yeah, 5 hours with 4 orange pads + Prima Swirl + Griot's 6 inch DA, not bad I suppose. I wish I could have had another 2 hours, that way I could have make the paint even better by going over it again with PO85RD and LC black pad.
thanks guys! It was a customer's car, and the contruction is for unfinished townhouses within the gated community.
Hey Mike I just wanna point out that theres still some polish residue under the mirror... The door handle rubber seal could use some love.... and looks like there are still some swirls on the body lines where you taped near the rear bumper?? small details like this can put yourself ahead of everyone else, and doesn't take that much time but 5hrs??? not bad!!
Thank you for the criticisms, I really appreciate it. It's how I can further improve myself! Yes, there were minor swirls that i missed, and I know I should have did the rubber seal with either blackwow or CG fade 2 black, but unfortunately time did not permit me to do so. As i was finishing up, customer's wife was pulling into the garage (they had to go somewhere right when she got home). So I was basically rushing it towards the end. I wish I had another 3 hours so I could have gone over the car again with PO85RD and black pad before IPA widedown and waxing, while tidy up the trim/rubber pieces a bit......
car looks good. i hate being crunched for time like that. It can really hinder the end results but you did good.
Thank you! Well it was kinda my fault that there wasnt enough time lol Long story short, I ran out of towels (brought 12 polishing/waxing towels) Had to take a long lunch break and visit Octane Guy @ his shop for 9 more towels. Acura's paint is so soft that I could only use 1 towel per section, with the car being black it did not help AT ALL. I saw all kinds of marring and smearing after just 1 section. So it was my fault for not bringing enough towels, had to take a 2 hour lunch break. Oh well, I learned that one hard lol. Definitely need to bring 20+ towels for Acura jobs.
yep I hope to see more details from you !! I usually tell my customers more time than it takes. becuz I hate to be rushed, I wanna give my customer more attention to detail because thats what they pay for. also I wanna clean up the area, look professional and collect my bill at the end. good luck on your details
Amen to that man, definitely lessons learned here. 1. Bring more damn towels. 2. Tell customer it's going to be a 10-12 hours job even though I might get it done between 8-10 hours! Any other criticism guys? Don't be shy now, I definitely still have lots to learn from everyone here!
