Today I put one layer of Swissvax Saphir on my car. 6 hours later i decided to give my car final wipedown with Fk425. It ended in horrbile smears all around the car, like never before. I'm sure I didnt use to much QD as I have done it dozens times on other waxes. What could cause this ? Too short time period between waxing and QD'ing ?
No, it was absolutly fine, actually it was evening already, so no sun at all. Yes, I know. But in the meantime, between waxing and QD'in there was some heavy rain, which caused quite a lot of water spots, so I choose QD instead of water to tackle them.
I have the same wax too, I use no rinse at detailer strength and come out with no smears for me..hope this helps, I aslo use distilled water to remove the wax if I leave it sit to long.:applause2:
You used too much wax. Thin, thin, thin, take it out in the sun to allow the wax to flow and dont touch it for a day.
Agreed, it sounds to me like the wax was sweating. I've found that the "lower end" SV's sweat more than the more expensive ones.
The wax could have been sweating, but I have also found that FK 425 does not place nice with some waxes.
Well, TBH I'm 99% sure that wax layer was thin enough, but of course You might be right. On the other hand, car was all that time in shade, in really mild temperature. I thought that wax sweat only in sun, after few hours.
Agree with many of the above but on finicky paints FK425 can get streaky, hence why I stopped using it.
I get that problem with fk425 too but only on some paints and always black hoods. Mostly when the car was on and hoods warm ,hot weather or in the sun . Looks like a bluish hologram streak here and there only noticable at certain angles .
