Mirror Polish

ok guys, have been successful on most cars but some I have issues with doing a final polish.

I use all menzerna products everything from 87 to SIP. depending on the car I usually go with a LC orange pad on my flex 3401 or pcxp and sip. after I do the entire car I try to hit it with 203 or 87.

now the cars look scratchless but the sides of the car have halograms (not swirls) and with the darker cars it is a major pain to get the side panels like a mirror with no halo's. I have been using the second polish on lc green and it always leaves hallows so I am thinking maybe I should use a lc white with 106ff and on a lower speed. maybe say speed 3 or 2 on a pc.

Try finishing with a white pad, slower overlapping passes and also a slower speed like 4 or 5.

 

This will give you some pad recommendations when using Menzerna Polishing Compounds.

 

Strange Menz should cite Edge pads when they mfg their own pads?

 

Doesn't look like a original Menzerna chart to me. And I must say that I prefere Menzernas pads over Edge.

 

are you using a rotary ?

 

If you are using a rotary, your final pass should be with 106 or 85RD on black or blue at the lowest speed on your polisher, usually around 900rpm. To eliminate holograms altogether, use said polishes and pads on your pc set at 4-5.
