so yesterday i saw a mr clean water softening unit on sale for $6. My plan is to immediately throw away the soap it comes with and just use the unit to spray on CG citrus soap then use the water softner as a final final rinse. Im hoping it will do until i can afford a proper foamer. Does anybody have any experience with these things and will it work for this purpose?
wow even if i just do a quick final rinse? i guess you get what you pay for. Would it be decent for applying soap before i can afford my foamer?
I've only used it once. I guess you could try to use it for foaming your car. The filter has a short life because of its capacity and depending on water hardness in your area.
garbage. only lasted a couple washes. Then the thing started leaking all over the place internally, too. I would not recommend it.
It softens the water, so it's not going to completely remove water spots. A lot of the effect is the coaating that the included soap leaves on your car. It makes water sheet off the vehicle which helps to reduce water spots. If you have really hard water, you will go through the filters too quickly. Mr. Clean doesn't make this product anymore so you're limited to whatever cartridges are still available for sale. I've wanted, and still do want, a CR Spotless water filter but it's too expensive. So I recently bought one of those Nomad H2O units and a AC/DC converter, and I plan on filling it with distilled water and using it as a pre-soak before doing an ONR wash during the winter months. You should be able to wash your whole car no problem with less than the tank's 3.5 gallon capacity filled with distilled water. Nomad claims 3.5 gallons of water is 15 minutes of water delivery. I find distilled water for less than $1 per gallon at my local supermarket.
