I have a no kink hose and I absolutely hate it at times... When it does kink you can't just whip the hose to release the kink you have to go and undo it. Pain in the arse... What I do now though to minimize kinking is lay the hose out before so it is long enough to go around the car without kinking instead of leaving it in a coil. It is less prone to kinking unless you are on a return trip around the car then you have to watch it :GRRRRR:

But I may look into the GY hose

 

The worst hose you can buy are the Sears one. TERRIBLE.

love the goodyear rubber one black or red both work well. ever see how much a hose weighs with water in it? mind boggling. look up rapid reel and read all about it.

 

I have been using my black goodyear hose for about 5 years now and its left outside however i do have it in one of those automatic reels . The automatic reel works great when putting away but somtimes tough to pull out . 1 click and it does reel up all by itself + pulls all the water out of it .

YES! I freaking hate that. "Never-Kink" my foot. With the rubber hose, as you said, you can just whip it and the kink nearly always comes free. I also find that the rubber hoses wind onto a reel much more easily than the no-kink hoses.
