    Hey everyone,

I have white rims on my Trans Am and what would you guys recommend using to clean them up? They are the 25th anniversary rims so I don't wanna strip the paint off of them. Thank you for your imput.

If they have a clear coat finish any 'safe' (non-acidic) wheel cleaner should clean them, follow up with P21S Total Auto Wash and then a polymer sealent

What year is the car? Good chance that the wheels are coated.

P21S Gel or Sonax R2000 Full Effect Rim Cleaner.

I did a Google search and found some pics of the 94 White Trans Am with white wheels. I really can't tell if they are coated. My guess is that they are but I think you should play it safe and go with one of the wheel cleaners I mentioned above. Neither are cheap, but neither is a set of 25th anniversary Trans Am wheels.

Here's a pic for others to see:

amen to that. as mentioned above any non acidic wheel cleaner should be safe. CG Sticky Wheel Gel should also work and that can be diluted to your liking and may just be a little more cost effective for you.

a 16 oz bottle can yield you 80 oz's or so of product.

Thank You for all the suggestions, I'm going to have to get some wheel gel or sonax.

Negative, both Uber Spoke Brush and EZ Detail are better.

Negative... RG Xl brush leaves both of those in the dust...

Granted, everyone needs more than one brush to thoroughly clean a rim but, for cleaning the barrels of rims there is NO OTHER BRUSH I have used that does what the RG XL can do...

Throw into that the fact that it can fit in between the caliper and barrel of even an Enzo (very small clearance) and the leader is clear!

Bristles are short on Raceglaze, so it doesn't always reach the pockets behind the spokes of the wheels. Also the short bristles can't reach the outer lip on the other side of most wheels. EZ Detail's long bristles are great for that.

I totally understand why people feel the Raceglaze XL Brush is the best for wheel barrels, but EZ Detail stands out to me because it has big and long bristles that give excellent reach while still being able to slip into small areas (though not as low-profile as the Raceglaze Brush can go)...also makes for the most versatile brush during engine cleaning, grill cleaning, motorcycle cleaning, etc. Uber Spoke Brush has amazing scrubbing power, never breaks or develops limp bristles, and is dirt cheap compared to the $20 RG and $25 EZ Detail, but is only good for wheel barrels like the RG Brush.

The brushes you mentioned are great "all around" brushes but, like many things that are great at many things they excel at none. If you were limited to one wheel brush I may agree but, I need more than one brush to clean rims to my standard.

To clean rims to my standard I use the RG XL, Megs Angle, Wheel Woolies, Megs Wheel Brush (bent at 90 degrees) and a mitt. Each have thier own duty and not any one of them could do the job all alone.

Yeah, word. I just see too many recommendations for Raceglaze XL Brush for wheel barrels when I know I have all three brushes just for the wheel barrels (EZ Detail, Raceglaze XL, and Uber Spoke), and I have at least two of each of those three brushes. Each brush comes in handy for each set of wheels. In fact, it's not uncommon that I use Raceglaze + EZ Detail, or EZ Detail + Uber Spoke for just one set of wheels, and that's just for the barrels and behind the spokes. Don't even get me started on rims, tires, and lugnuts.

Come to think of it, if I just posted up my brush collection, people would think I'm nuts.
