Been wanting to do this car for a while, 2007 Infiniti FX35 in Black. Belongs to my parents. They picked it up late last year. Nice car and a blast to drive, but need to look the part too! You got the FX looking great! I know how easy they are to scratch...I've had one since new in 2004. I put some clear bra over the rear bumper top area to try to protect it. Mine needs some love right now...like the shoe-maker's kids going without shoes, LOL. Nice writeup too.
Working on a black car is so gratifying! You really see how much of an improvement you've done! How long did it take you do detail a SUV like that? Also, did the AGHD make a difference when applied after the powerlock? GREAT JOB!
Thanks for the comments guys. It took me 14hrs to do by myself and that included a bit of interior cleaning (not my favorite ). Yeah it was a noticeable difference when I applied the Autoglym HD over the power lock. The black warmed up and wasn't so bright but kept that wet look. First time using the Autoglym HD and I like it... Although it does take some effort to remove, to soon and it was oily and to long just seemed to take effort to remove. But the results were worth it.
Sweet job! that car needed love, Im just curious why nxt 2.0 , AutoGlym Paste, and Menz Power Lock? Again, I love it though, it looks awesome, im no fan of megs hot wheels, that shits like acid.
I put Power Lock down first and like to top with a wax to warm up the color and I used the AutoGlym HD as the topper. I use the NXT on door jams and wheels right now to use it up. A wheel/long lasting wax is on my chem wish list. The Megs hot wheels actually seems to be pretty neutral didn't do crap, again getting rid of old stock. I was awaiting the delivery guy for my order from Phil which contained Sonax, it didn't come in time...
