Detailer's Domain: Aston Martin Vantage

    Aston Martin Vantage New Car Prep

    To my surprise this Aston was no were near the others we have done or as bad as some presented by other detailers on this board.

    (NO SWIRLS, Light scratches, imperfections from the factory) this was truly a freak of nature!

    Figured I would post because its a moving piece of art!

    What was done -
    Exterior

    - Wheels were prepped with Sonax Wheel Cleaner and cleaned up with various brushes
    - Tires were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash and washed down
    - Wheel wells were spritzed down with P21S Total Autowash
    - Wash down and rinsed
    - Door jambs were cleaned up
    - Clayed
    - Dried
    - Paint inspected and measured
    - Wheels were protected with Swissvax Autobahn
    - Tires dressed
    - Masking
    - 1 Step Polish with Menzerna PO85RD
    - Inspection with Fenix, 3m Sun Gun, Infratech, and natural sunlight
    - Menzerna Power Lock
    - Rubber and Plastics Treated
    - Exterior windows and mirrors cleaned and sealed
    - Exhaust tips cleaned

    Interior Detail

    - All interior surfaces cleaned and protected, including glass, and all
    vinyl/plastic surfaces.
    - Carpets and upholstery vacuumed.

    Nice post!!

    Aston paints are very soft and inherent to swirls & scratches. The dealer network, does not help either, with such high end cars there is such a lack of attention & detail paid to this aspect of the cars.

    I have found that for MY10, Aston Martin made a conscience decision to reduce production and increase quality of each car. In 2007 they produced close to 10,000 V8's and in 2010 is closer to 3000 (now the economy might have something to do which this) but that said the paint quality I've seen this year is very impressive.
