Posted this on another forum because I know members here don't visit that site often. My solution hose on my Mytee HP60 extractor was leaking. Not the long hose, but the one that goes on the vac head. About 7.5 inches long. The thickness of it is 1/8 inch. Picture: That pic is what arrived today via UPS GROUND. It's the right one. Now, I look at the invoice and was shocked at what they charged for shipping! Now let me say this first. When I called them to order, they didn't do over the phone orders. They emailed me a credit card authorization form to fill out and fax back in. (with the part number, price, quantity, etc....) I asked about shipping and they said it will be calculated and added to the payment. I thought to myself, how much COULD it really be to ship a small hose that will fit in a small envelope. I mean, the part was only 9 bucks. Well, they charged me the $9 for the part and $22 for friggen shipping! You bet I called them to express my concern on why shipping was so expensive for such a small part in a small envelope that too 5 days to get here from California.... She said she would have to get back to me later, which of course, I never heard back from.... So buyer beware. Mytee won't give you a shipping quote, and if you order, be prepared for a high bill...
If you used Paypal or a CC I would contest the amount! That's a real problem on Ebay now shipping is way out of hand!
use the UPS calculator to figure out what it should have cost. they are pocketing that excess and not paying taxes on it.
What you could do for any future purchases that require a cca form is to do calculate the shipping cost yourself and then put a ballpark amount on the cca form if they don't give you a quote and to call you if its more than what you put I.e. "if more than $5 please call to confirm". Do it this way and it'll protect you from any outrageous shipping cost. Sidenote: faxing a complete cca form can be very dangerous. I usually tell people to just fill everything out except for the actual cc info..I usually have them call and give it over the phone. I'm a shipping clerk so I deal with this stuff all the time.
Shipping is not cheap but that's rediculous. You probably won't get any money back, but it sounds like you won't be calling them when you buy a new one. John
Wow...I was charged that much for an 11 pound package coming all the way from California. Hope ya can get it taken care of...
well if you ordered it off ebay, then its par for the course. they sell stuff cheap and jack up shipping because you dont pay ebay charges for shipping. so seller discount products and compensate on shipping or shipping and handling. its the main reason i dont buy shit from ebay. i see stuff for a few dollars and shipping is like 10 times more than normal, i would rather just buy from an online retailer.
Oh wow- you didn't happen to order this part from C&D distributors did you ????? Charlene Corley - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
$998,000 for shipping two washers :shead: That sounds about right up to me :chips: Kind Regards, Mytee
NO, I ordered directly through Mytee. They gave me a break down over the phone today. The PART was $9 The Shipping was $15 The HANDLING was $7 Total (BS) of $31 I will not be ordering from them directly again anymore. I know to shop around if I ever need a part for the extractor now.... Live and learn.....
