Hey had a question on leather protectant, I just used 303 protectant on interior leather after cleaning thourghly with Meg,apc cut 1:10, came out real clean, then applied 303 protectant to seats and all interior. The product is on sale at di for a great price. Will the 303 add good protection? I liked the way it came out and how long would it last on leather? Thanks on this, any information would help so I can place an order before 6/6..great value, also used on plastic trim pieces and came out nice to. Thanks:applause2:
I also use 303 Protectant on all my 14 year old leather as well as in both my parent's cars and it works like a charm. It doesn't leave the leather slick or greasy but leaves a really crisp, satin look to the leather plus you get some of the best UV protection out there. It is not a great product for rejuvenating leather but it is fantastic to keep in protected maintenance wise. I find that durability is hard to tell in terms of when the protective property wears off on interior trim. I find that 303 remains water repellant on leather for 3-4 months but I have no way to say exactly what type of durability it will yield. The good thing is that it is so easy to use that spritzing the leather every month or two will keep the protection up.
thanks guys for the information there, optimum product also to look into>>>wow so many choices, thanks..:applause2:
Well it looks like im leaning towards 303 protectant, Optimum leather protectant I only see it in 17oz size, im looking for 1 gallon size, anyone knows where i can find it at? Thanks again.:applause2:
its the same thing as optimum protectant plus... which also happens to be kinda tough to find in gallons. But You Sure Can Get It Here
Ok fellas so what is in Leather Masters Protection Creme....drum roll please. From the Leather Masters MSDS sheet. Ingredients Chemical Name CAS Number Proportion Hazard Watery solution of resins, animal and vegetable oils and fats. Contains < 0.5% mould inhibitor. Ingredients are non-hazardous. Most companies won’t release ingredients other than what's on the MSDS sheet. Patenting chemicals is pretty risky since if you change a couple of ingredients by a few percentages it's technically a different product. When it comes to technical specifications and chemical formulations, it is important to realize that all companies must keep secure their proprietary information and agreements. Without this, no business would have the incentive to develop new products, expand their market, stay competitive, and ultimately - exist. Information included in a Material Safety Data Sheet aids in the selection of safe products, helps you understand the potential health and physical hazards of a chemical and describes how to respond effectively to exposure situations. Although there is an effort currently underway to standardize MSDS’s the quality of individual MSDS’s vary. A MSDS may be useful but it cannot substitute for prudent practices and comprehensive risk management.
Doesn't the ingredient list raise any eyebrows? Leather Masters is such a touted product yet it has OILS (animal and vegetable no less) but is water based. We do not know the amounts but it is disclosed. This means people cannot automatically dismiss other products as "bad" that contain similar ingredients which has been done.
Product content from an MSDS can be very misleading, oli is not bad necessarily, just unsuitable for some leather finishes
