I'm consider using ONR, but I was just wondering how you manage to use it on the roof of an SUV without a step ladder?
I haven't found any product to use on top of an SUV that doesn't require step ladder. At least with the ONR you can do a section and dry it and move on - not nearly as much up and down and readjusting the ladder.
Unless your tall as heck you're going to need a something to stand on. A bunch of us have a work platform we use to get on top of SUV's and such. Add some skateboarding grip tape to the bottom so you dont slip when it gets wet and your good to go. No more constantly walking up and down a ladder. I lay a towel on the door sills and step onto that in order to get the roof towards the front of the SUV, step onto the rear tire to get the rear portion of the roof. I generally wash it all with ONR and then go back to dry it in one go which I find is faster than doing each section individually but this might be necessary if you are working in the sun.
Careful standin on the door ledges. I recommended a detailing buddy not to stand on them, he had a bit of wetness on his shoes and was looking at the sky about 10 seconds after he said "oh no man they are non slip". But if anything he learned non slip restaurant shoes cant be used on paint
Thanks for the suggestions. I went to Lowes and purchased the Werner work platform; it works great, super stable. $29.99 until the June 7th I believe. Ciao
