I'm doing some work on my wife's new car. Are there any issues with applying an LSP to headlights and windshields? Any things to be careful of or products to avoid?

I use sealants on my lights all the time, I don't see any harm in it. It's just like applying a sealant to your windshield.

As Chas said, you shouldn't have any issues regardless of LSP.

You dont want you use an LSP which has dye in it on lights or clear bras. It can cause them to yellow.

Perfect thanks. Blackfire is my go to sealant on this car so I should be good to go.

This depends on the type of clear mask. Venture Shield must be waxed, it even says so on their warranty card. But, be sure to ONLY use a white colored wax. Waxing helps keep the film shiny, and also will help protect for bug and bird dropping etching.

I've used Jeffs Werkstatt Prime Strong & Acrylic Gloss Menzerna Powerlock & Blackfire WDAFPP on my lights and windshield all with great results.
It makes the lights look a lot better and on the windshield it's like RainX on steroids. When everybody else has their wipers on full blast I don't need mine at all usually. Makes the windshield look really good too.

Blackfire will look great on your lights. You are gonna be amazed at the difference this stuff makes on your windshield (you should do all the glass really including the side mirrors). Your visibility in the rain will go up by about 500%. The rain will bead up and above about 40 mph it will literally roll up the windshield.

While I won't use just any wax or sealant on the glass, I will definitely always wax the headlights and tail lights (my car has clear headlights and fog lights). Once I was hesitant to use Blue Velvet on my clear headlights, being a color-charged wax, but I noticed no difference in the clarity...just ncie and shiny.

I only hear good things about using BF Wet Diamond on glass, so I will have to try that sometime soon.

I didnt say they should not be waxed or sealed, I just said make sure whatever LSP you are using does not contain any dyes, as in yellow. We are saying the same thing.
