Did my 1st paying detail on a friend’s red S2000, everything before was either my cars, parents, or helping a friend detail a car... Car overall was in decent shape mostly a spider webs in the paint were his biggest complaint. Materials Used Menzerna PO203 Menzerna PO106FA Menzerna Power Lock Mequiers Clay Bar Kit Meguiers NXT 2.0 Uber 5.5” Orange Pad Uber 5.5” Green Pad Uber 5.5” Blue Pad Meguiers Foam Applicator pads Uber Microfiber towels Raggtop Vinyl Top Cleaner Raggtop Vinyl Top Dressing Misc Chrom Polish Misc Tire Shine Adam’s Car Wash Mequiers Gold Class Car wash Uber Sponge Gilmor Flowmaster II Foam Gun Microfiber Wash Mit Bug and Tar Sponge What I started with… Gritty stuff coating the Bumper Dirty Exhaust Tips… Flat appearance to the paint… Swirls and Scratches in the paint… Claying starts… Taped up and ready for compounding… Compounded with PO203 on Orange pad for the hood and front fenders and rear deck lid, followed by PO203 on a green pad on all panels, and then PO106FA on a blue pad on all panels… 50/50… Left side compounded Right side not… 50/50 Upper portion compounded Lower portion not… All compounding awaiting a wash… Soaped up… Menzerna Power Lock setting up applied with Mequiers Foam Pad, wheels dressed, rims clayed and Megquiers NXT 2.0, door jams NXT 2.0 End results… Plates were also removed, cleaned, waxed, and reinstalled… Engine compartment also cleaned but don’t have pictures Customer was also quite happy with the outcome! :applause2: Thanks for viewing! :gidiup:
Fine work right there! FYI you can apply powerlock really thin using very little product, for me I actually find thinner coats work better, easier to buff off etc. Either way nice work, keep em coming!
Yeah that is my X.. It's an '05 with almost 90k on it. Only issue I had was a 4xd relay and servo issue that had to be worked out. Other than that been a great SUV... It also has a 2.5" lift in it and due for tires so I can go up in size now
Thanks quite happy with the outcome That is actually as thin as it wanted to go down for some reason. There where only a few spots that where tough coming up, little more elbow grease, but the rest just wiped off.
I did get some paint transfer, but I thought it was more from the touch-up paint he had on the hood. When I did my Honda last week I did not have the same transfer... Which leads me to a question I was going to ask... How do I get the paint out of the pad? Some came out when I rinsed but I can't get the rest... Is the pad no good now?
