Well I might feel that way too (depending on how many 4" pads I had bough from Phil).. but in the end I'm sure he's still happy with Phil and his products. He may just remember "hey I can get those pads over at ADS next time" .. which isn't saying Phil is bad it's just someone who wants "the best deal".

If I can throw my hat in the ring here, you guys have to realize that right now, in a tough economy, vendors will do anything to retain clients. Look at all the stuff places like AG, DI and Classic are pretty much giving away. Phil's prices could very well be a respectable margin level whereas ADS may be blowing them out just to attract new clients. It's tough to tell.

Since when was finding a product, marking it up and selling it such a shameful thing to do??

Buff n Shine make great pads, and they're always goin to be cheaper than buying from a retailer

man this sounds like this thread could go south real quick. The bottom line is some people shop for a bargain or great deal and some people don't really care much for it and will remain doing business with the usual people they have been.

It's all preference and there isn't anything wrong with it. If everyone charged the same price for every item on the planet then what would be the purpose of having different vendors to carry the product?

Some people buy in extremely large quantities which allows them to either mark it up and make a larger profit or charge less then those who don't order a ton of stuff. That is where you get a price difference. The cost to do business in certain area's may be a little more expensive which could also be another reason for the price difference.

There will always be someone who will sell it at a lower price then another store just like hacks selling the $80 paint correction specials LoL

I know your original post did not imply this but, it seems subsequent posts from others imply that Phil is somehow pulling the wool over the eyes of his customers or that he is being dishonest ... when in fact he has done nothing of the sort and is running a reputable business...

Agreed as well. I never meant to make fingers point I simply meant, but poorly worded, how its frustrating to find good products and now know other carry them but we pay more. And considering all the shops have good CS with everyone having an up and down periodically, it comes down to price for some especially when we want to give business to them and try new stuff. There are threads trying to figure out who makes what(I assume so we all can save money) but nobody who really knows offers anything. But again thats vendor prerogative. Phil is doing a good job with this.

If the prices is not much different, why dont we just support DB sponsors here? They need to pay the sponsor fee. They always been very helpful, well response and professionalism. Guys who been DB for a while, i think will agree to me.

Bear in mind, ADS or AG stock up a lot of stocks and need to get rid of some to replace a new stock coming. They are pushing for high turnover. It will help their cashflow as well. Its not surprised me at all if they keep offering BOGO or 50% for a certain items.

To be fair, we cant ask DB sponsors to match their price. Guys, dont forget it, DD, AW, OS etc offer far cheaper price on some occasions.

anyway, look for cheaper nothing wrong, but dont make such a fuss like compared price from AG, ADS etc to DB sponsors. They just make a living like all of us. If you are not happy with their price, just move on. I am not against anyone, its just my thought.

I don't think ADS is as big as some folks think. They should not be compared to AG or PAC in volume.

The Ubers don't come in the red or white and the designation of their cutting abilities between the Ubers and the B & S don't match:

    Uber Green =Medium Polishing / B & S Green = Heavy Polishing (the B & S white = medium)

Since both types of pads are the same, then which have more accurate designation? :shead:

  15. Same goes for wax :paranoia:

I agree ^ Just about every kinda business there is practices this method :deal:

    Very well said ahwil_lim :applause:

I will get them from DD still anyway since i can get both sizes i need instead of having to buy from 2 places . Ads doesnt have the 6" pad . DD must also pay extra for the writing on back . it is also possible that there is a quality difference like dd gets premium and ads factory seconds .

kustomshop also has the same backing plate as the others

If you go to Buff and Shine's web site, they have a nice application chart showing the colors / task. The white and green are both polishing pads. The white is European foam.

As Phil has said earlier, there are only a couple of foam suppliers so everyone is getting products from the same basic sources. Cyclo pads follow a similar scheme as well.

Note buff and shine also sells clay...we know they do not make clay.

Thanks dude, I just checked it out. I'll have to call B and S. They have so many different pads of the same color, but different designations and also different from how ADS and DD designate these pads. Now I'm even more confused. I'm trying to get rid of all my CCS pads and switch to GI and Ubers/B&S. The GI are awesome also.

Phil never hid the fact that he didn't make these pads himself in his basement. We get the added benefit that we can buy everything at DD, which saves on shipping. He does add the lettering/designation to the pads, so he does take a product and add his own twist to it.

Can you get it elsewhere for cheaper? Probably. But Phil does run some great specials every quite frequently.

  20. So, if one was to order the 6 pack special they have going what colors would you choose
