Yeah, these guys sell products mostly geared toward IMO standards for Coatings on ship hulls. I have dealt with their PTG's before for a few yards. I don't think they are anything you would use on your car. I am not sure if their PTG reads as thin a layer of paint as a car would have. As for the Gloss meter, not 100% sure on that one.
I'm not too exactly sure why would would need an expensive ass one of those, when you can just tell if a car looks glossy. JMO, I don't get them :shrug:
I had a gloss meter once on loan, not for me, couldn't see a use for it unless you don't know the difference between glossy and dull! lol.
I too got my hands on one of these meters, it calculates and provides a numerical value on the gloss a wax or sealant leaves behind. I only used it a few times with a few different waxes...but I honestly didn't think it was a tool that I would be able to incorporate with my detailing regiment :shrug: so back it went and got a different toy :giggle:
To provide a numerical value between one wax and another, or to show a customer a (again numerical) value of gloss on a clean car before and after applied LSP
