What type of banding do you guys prefer? I find the silk edging is best.

I have many towels from different places and the ones that use a normal looking stitching the corners have these hard plastic things exposed after a few washes.

Anyone else notice this? It's right at the corner if you feel with your fingers you probaby notice it. Is it some sort of hard plastic they put in to reinforce the edge?

I'm afraid to use these again in fear they might scratch.

Microfiber banded for sure. But if not, silk is alright. I dont care so much for corners.

    Microfiber banded for the win!!
Silk is OK but I noticed in very soft paints may mar or introduce some micro-scratchs, so what I do in those cases is fold the towel and hold the silk edge between two fingers in such a way that silk borders don't touch the paint just the microfiber.

Edgeless microfiber towels are very good too.
