I am STEAMING!!

My mother called me yesterday and asked "do you mind if I wash my car at your house tomorrow?" I said, "mom I told you that you can wash it anytime down here." The only reason she would wash it down here is because she watches my daughter while my wife and I are at work during the week. Anywho, she gets here this morning and I grabbed her towels, my old sponge and a bucket filled with CW&G. The nice son that I am I sprayed her rims, bumpers and mirrors with some TAW. She then asks, "do you have wax since I want to do that too?" I was like crap what should I let her use. So I grabbed the SV Saphir instead of Smaragd. Since I was running late I couldn't explain how to use it. BAD MOVE!!!! When I got home from work I noticed it was sitting on the kitchen counter with the lid partially off. Knowing that the lid is tough at times to screw on I picked it up to tighten it and something made me look inside of it. What a big mistake that was!!!! I opened it and found that she used so much that I could see the bottom of the jar!!!! This is the very wax that was maybe 2/3 full if not more!!! I freaked!! I said, "what happened to all the wax?" She replied, "I didn't look like any was going on my car until I did my hood". She apparently did the hood last! I walked out to look at her car and found wasted wax in between all the door seams etc...
Since she cooks dinner for us on Mondays, she said she tried a new recipe for the chicken she cooked and I asked "did you happen to cook it with my wax or something?"
Thanks for listening now I must take a cold shower.

If my mom were to ever want to wax her car I would probably give her some 845 of BFWD....

Since I won't buy otc stuff I had nothing else to let her use. I kick myself since I was actually going to give her Menz FMJ to use. Letting her use that wouldn't have hurt so bad. I can see where she was coming from since that wax goes on so lightly and it's very tough for one to see it being applied on a silver car.

 

Man, that sucks. I'd get a bottle of Optimum Spray wax or Aquawax.

a similar thing happened to me when my brother used my maxi suds to wash his car. he used almost half the 16oz. bottle in the bucket :thud:

as mentioned above get her some 845.

 

Sounds like what I did to my first pot of P21s Concours. Ripped through about 1/3 of the pot doing 1 layer. I got 50 layers out of the rest.

I would give not only my wax, but everything I own if I could have my Mother back. She died on my 8th birthday. Is this all you have to complain about :thumbdown:

You cannot expect someone who knows nothing about detailing to know only use the littlest bit of wax. Think if you never heard/learned that you only needed the littlest bit of wax. I know alot of people who used wayyyy too much wax before learning they really only need a pea sized amount. Man, the first time I used FMJ, i probably used about 5-6 ozs!!!

 

Can't get mad at mom.
