So I got a call 2 days ago from a friend of a friend, they needed their car done very badly, they told me to expect the worst, I did'nt think it could be so bad, 1st im sorry for the pics, it was much worse/better in person. This thing was swirl city, and the clear coat was a little hard to work with. It was black with gold flakes, a great color but if you saw this, you would want to vomit.

So here we go, he told me to not pay attention to the wheels because he was getting new ones in a week, but I still did them, but didnt stress over them, the main thing he wanted was all swirls GONE.

Went with Zymol, I know this is better for lighter cars, but
it worked very well on this car. Came over very easy, Only did
one thin coat so far, adding another tommorow.

nice man! So how do you like that power gloss compound? A lot of people don't like it because it tends to dust a lot and on top of that i guess it leaves behind a lot of marring. I have been wanting to try power finish though.

Nice work, you can tell from the sun pics that the car was hammered! Great save.

    Thanks!

    It dusts A LOT!!!!!
But I still think its really good product,
I did a saturn with it a while ago and it didnt dust as crazy as this one,
I used new pads for both, Im not sure if it depends on the paint or not.
But yeah, I think its a great product. It definately works, the marring wasnt
so bad, but I really wanted a fast cut, so I went for it.
    thanks again!

I don't work on black cars TO much so I guess

Looks great :thumb: That car must have sat out side or something to go through two whole clay bars! Nice turn around on the finish.

    LuDawg!
I don't think that car is ever in the garage, always street parked,
under a tree... But I think that changed now hahaha.

    and Racersky,
The clay bars were awful. It was so bad hahaha,
It made me actually like the Meguiars clay bar though,
I never tried it before, but it was good result wise.

Are you referring to the meguiars claybar that comes three pieces?

Very nice work there, proves a good correction can be made with a DA.

Hey, nice job! Did you run into that "sticky paint" issue on that car? I did a subiethe same color and it was a night mare and I have an STI coming up to do, I think the same color

    Racer Sky,
my friend sold it to me for 5 bucks,
came in a plastic black case, with 2 bars.
I think its probably the shelf kind? not sure.

and Ian, yes I did run into that, it was really different
working with this paint, but a nice challenge to,
Ide actually like to do more to get used to stuff
    like this.

    thanks so much everyone!
