I got a quick question, has anyone noticed that red honda's will have paint transfer from polishing on the hood and turnk lid even though they both read in the 100micron range and look stunning after polishing? I am just finishing up this honda s2000 and i got a lot of paint transfer from the hood and trunk lid.
thanks for the heads up i was wondering why a white 09 accord i did last month was getting white paint on my pad :thumb:
The red S2K is not single stage. The clearcoat has a red tint in it. I had the same thing happen on a red S2K I worked on a few months ago.
I don't believe anything is painted with single stage anymore. Even my 04 Savana Cargo van was base/clear.
I'm working on a 03 evo8 and it's red. This is an example of a single stage paint. I've checked and it doesn't have a red tint in the clear, it's a real single stage paint.
Well I just finished working on a 2004 red Honda S2000 and all the pad's i used on it had lots of paint transfer.
i believe you can still get paint transfer from tinted clear coats as well. I totally thought that they did away with the single stage paints looooong ago.
I am not sure about what years were SS, but white Honda cars were SS for a long time. A friend had a 2000 thats SS.
I own a red Honda and it is not single stage. Mine doesn't show any paint transfer. Maybe the clearcoat has a bit of red?
