Just got the sample kit that I requested from Croftgate USA. I requested the Leather Cleaner, Leather Conditioner and Tire Shine. Their CEO, Rick was a very nice guy and included a sample of their Quick N Slick spray detail as well. Oh yeah, full size products! I was shocked. I'm really looking forward to trying this stuff.
Ok so I used the Tire Shine (will post pics shortly) and the Quick N Slick. Tire Shine - Fairly impressed. A little goes a very long way. One spray on a terry applicator did the entire tire + the wheel well on a Mustang. Going to ask the owner of the car how the shine holds up. It's a matte black finish. Quick N Slick - I guess this is their spray wax. After using the Mother's Showroom detailer throughout the day and getting sick of the streaks it left behind, I tried the Quick N Slick on one panel. I was immediately impressed. No dripping/running like most every Detail Spray i've ever used does. It wipes off very easily and leaves a nice feel and shine. Very impressed. Going to try this out on my car later today.
I got a sample pack too. (4oz spray bottles) Quick n' Slick- My opinion is this product is not good at all... Yes, its wildly slick, and easy to use, and it has durability had it on my cars hood for 6 weeks and at this point it isn't totally gone yet. I'd say 8 weeks it would be done. So its easy to use, has wild slickness, and good durability, but... this stuff leaves everything streaky under bright light, and almost invisible it you buff it out a lot but the point of a spray wax/sealant is the time savings and to get it right I just didn't save that much time, and when used on glass you can see it better. So on paint it barely visible but on glass... just don't. I actually had a hard time removing it from glass (sprayaway=fail, soap=fail, SIP= check) so its tough! MultiClean- umm... its alright. I had to flush the paint surface with water and another MF as this stuff left hazing in the areas used. It cleans gently but I can't see myself using it, ever. Its just crazy costly! And in the ready to use gallon it costs 4x more than Megs APC gallon! Yes, its green and all, but I'm not spending $190 on 1 gallon of concentrate. Aquanil-X- Hell no... I'm not using this. I'm going to see how it does as a clay lube as its pretty slick, and stays wet long. Another thing- its pink... It stained parts of my towel (it washed off fine) but I'd rather have it a less visible color. Tire Shine- This was hands down my fav. of the bunch. It cleaned the tire better than APC and brush (how... don't ask, all I can say it it was literally brown when i wiped it down) and wheel cleaning it did a fair job, actually quite good. Very unexpected for a tire dressing. As for the finish left, it was nice and matte as I expected. New tire look at its finest. Durability is good (if it doesn't rain) but its at 2 weeks now with 1 wet weather drive, and the look was degraded but still looks fine. Consistency is thick for the product so when I reached 50% i diluted it (1:1) and it worked almost as well with a more even spread on the tire. Leather Cleaner- Good stuff! The foaming bottle make the product work without agitation. I used a brush and it cleaned the leather very well leaving no stickiness to the surface. It felt like clean leather! The smell it light, and indescribable in words (that said, its easy to work with) Leather Conditioner- Again nice stuff! Anything I used in the past sucked! Meguiars left the surface so slippery and did nothing to the leather. This made it noticeably softer, and did not leave the surface sticky nor slippery. I'm not sure how to gauge anything else like durability. Repeat applications can help the softness and feel of the leather. The consistency is cream-like and hand application is fun (for me) it has a mint-like natural leather smell that made the car smell fresh after use. I'll try to get pics of the tires when applied, and the streaking noticed, as well as the other products. One last thing! The bottles are SHWEET! Dodo Juice style, so I'll be using them for other things for sure.
Are these guys claiming to manufacture their own stuff? Or is this made for them by someone? To the two users: do these products resemble anything else you have used?
I actually work with the wife of one of the owners of this company. The "chemical company" that she described to me sounded like Warner Chemical. I think that is probably the case. Then they bought the rights to the Croftgate brand for distribution in the North American market.
