dont be afraid of the high maint, as long as you do your oil changes and treat your car well it will run forever. example-bought my car new about 6yrs ago with 8 miles on it. current mileage- my tranny died at 180k, but the motor runs flawless!
BMW are nothing but low maintenance. If you just keep up on your regular servicing, they will go forever!!! My E28 BMW has over 200K on the clock. I have seen dankfanatics E46.... Looks like it has 60K on the clock for the outside.
