Sometimes I look at my suv, and just know it needs a full detail. It's black so it shows everything!! The thing is, I just don't have the motivation to do a full 2-3 step polish on it. I washed it and sealed it and all that good crap, but just don't wanna machine it. Anyone else feel that way? It's probably bad, but I rather detail someone else's car instead of my own right now. -Roger
feel ya bud ... The roof on the highlander is really bothering me right now. I have to do at least a 2 step on the roof and buff some random scratches on the rear bumper. I'm really don't wanna do it, but I don't wanna seal it knowing that it looks bad. I'm doing a 2-step on my black car really soon .... glasur over powerlock is sounding good right now.
By the time I'm done with a full week of work and usually a full weekend of detailing I don't have TIME for our cars. I'd love to have the time but I simply don't. I need to schedule in my own cars, HAH.
I've got a black vehicle man, I understand your feelings. I've got what they call a "15-footer", looks good from 15 feet, but as soon as you take a few steps, you can see the many imperfections. I need to tackle it one day, but it being a flareside f150, it's got many curves on the tailgate that will be tough to get with the PC. One day though, I'll do it, one day.
Two black vehicles here and those things are ALWAYS clean. I found out quickly that regular maintenance on black vehicles really prevents one from having to do a full two stepper on it.
You should pay yourself, hahahaha, Money is definately motivation with other peoples car, but I dont mind doing my own car, I just hateeeeee spending a long time on it hahah
My car take very good care of (2 door civic si) but my fiance's Ford Explorer rarely gets anything more than a wash and wax. I need to get around to it, but the fact that it is white and hides most swirls keeps letting me push it back.
im taking one week off for vacation and I will be detailing a few of my friends cars, and then my A6 sedan. =)
i used to have my cars corrected by a pro then just maintain them with different paint cleaners and waxes - that's the fun part imo now that ive bought a DA i correct myself but i hear ya, sometimes im all gee'd up, set aside a full day, go down to the warehouse, wash the car, air dry it, tape it up, hit the first panel, step back and sigh because i cbf
I have the same problem...Just can't bring myself to polish my car, although I know it looks bad on a detailer to be driving a car that looks like mine lol. Although ez creme glaze has been my temporary fix. Maybe next weekend...
I want to add one more thing. I have gotten 2 jobs from people coming up to me in public asking who detailed my car. So it can pay off if you spend some time on the DD.
This is the reason why I try to always keep my car looking good, as I rarely drive my wife's car. I have gotten a few jobs this way and it's a very effective tool.
