Has anyone had any problems with FK425 separating a little when left sit for a while? I tend to shake up my bottles of products periodically and noticed today some white substance floating around in my 32oz bottle. I guess i could try and shake harder, but you guys have anything to add? -Fergy-
hmmmm...that's weird...has it been exposed to extreme temperatures (frozen, or left in a hot garage)?
Hey Matt...I had a gallon for over a year and no problems what so ever..Maybe some foriegn matter in your spray bottle. Just a thought.
This is the 32oz bottle from FK, I just broke the seal today to release the pressure from shaking it.
I just emailed Michael Fortunato about it to see what he says. I will probably just end up pour it through a strainer to get those pieces of weird substance out. Has anyone ordered their FK from AG? That is where this container came from, not saying that is the direct source of the problem though.
ive noticed that if i leave my 425 on the shelf, there is a lil separation after a little while. I just usually shake it up and its all good!
Yea man, thats stuff is toast. What your gonna wanna do is send it to me for proper disposal aranoia:
Yup, exactly what happens to my FK425 and the 32oz bottle. It has not affected performance and only happens after sitting around for a few weeks. A few good shakes and it is back to normal, so I wouldn't worry about it. I got a sample size at another point and both perform as advertised which means they work great!
Ya ... mine is also have some white substance floating, I dont think its separating rite? few shakes and use it as normal. So far so good. No prob at all.
This is the messege that was sent to me from him: Hi Matt, The milky white consistency left around the top is more than likely a precipitation left over from the batching at the factory when they were mixed and bottled warm under a little bit of heat. The substance is probably just the gloss enhancers and polymers in the 425 that give it its slickness, gloss, and protective properties falling out as the product cools and otherwise settles. I am sure you will notice the rest of the 425 is a consistent pink color. The precipitate rises to the top simply because it has a lower density than the rest of the solution. This would be akin to being able to dissolve a lot of sugar in hot, close to boiling water. As the water cools further and further, the sugar precipitates out of the sugar solution. As the water temperature cools, less sugar is able to held in solution and precipitates out, recrystallizing. This will have no effects on the performance of your FK425. Just give it a good shake and use as you would otherwise. Looks like everything will be just fine, I will probably shake it up really well and if anything is left pour it through a strainer to get the white stuff our so it doesn't have a chance to clog a sprayer or anything.
