One can always argue how much money and effort they wasted on car mods and they'll end up selling the car or crashing it.A car is meant to get you from point A to point B. Spending money on car mods to make it look any different from the other cars is a waste of money and time.
Way to stick up for him Roger, I like that bit you put in there about engine work, sometimes people don't realize what they are saying unless they can measure it against something they truly care about.
:agree: but there are some good guys on that site, but some of the people measure their weewee's with how much JDM stuff they can afford for their cars.
Just like I don't go two shits about tuning a car, they don't care about detailing one. I'd probably have the same reaction like they did if I saw a thread about someone taking an engine apart, boring and stroking it, and putting it all back together.
wow its a shame how they bashing Vxmarc, they're jus jealous of his time he has with his car. I work on cars full time and detailing is my hobby, I wouldn't wanna deal with those customers at all. I have a friend who was looking for a deal to detail his RSX so he can sell it, I told him not to waste his money on me cuz I charge a lot, so I sent him the other way lol. I only choose to detail cars that people care about.
some people just will never understand. some like chocolate, some like vanilla, doesnt mean you should bash the guy who likes chocolate bc you like vanilla. that was nice of you to stick up for him roger. the way he carried out that detail was truely a work of art IMO. cant believe they closed the thread too. i mean, ive seen way worse go without being closed, and that one wasnt even getting out of hand. arent you a mod over there roger?
i used to be the mod for that section. i resigned last week. it was locked because I asked the mod to lock it.
Some people..... I hate how humans constantly do the comparison of self vs others. Get over it. Don't be so insecure and bash on other people.
Man I swear, stupid Honda kids... they piss me off every time and make the rest of us look bad. I hate the immaturity in the tuner culture and the lack of respect/intelligence (and yes the latter two are actually related).
Perhaps we should be more respectful of other's opinions, especially when they differ and use it as a learning experience. Personal attacks have no place in a detailing forum, healthy debate isn't a problem; this should be the main purpose of a detailing forum. As most opinions are at best subjective anyway, there is always an opposing and often equally valid response, and constructive criticism, both of which should be encouraged as a learning experience. My rule number one is- "Forget your ego and never try to belittle someone who has a differing opinion; and never, ever, make personal attacks.”
You obviously see a wider diversity of opinions on forums not specifically oriented toward detailing. Elsewhere it is the Nu Finish users that get hissed. Using Nu Finish does not cause the paint to instantly fail and look bad. The first clue is when someone says "the best wax is....."
