Alright so yesterday I did a minor paint correction on my car before applying the Insignis. I used 205 on my S5 with an Orange CCS pad (White and Coarse Green wasn't doing a damn thing) and to my surprise the finish was left flawless. I was really happy, but then when I was removing the Insignis I realized I was marring the surface . I don't know why this happened, but it did. I am using PakShak Ultra Micro towels. I know I wasn't filling in the defects either because I did a full foam gun wash followed by IPA. Funny thing too because I realized I was marring the surface the night before when removing the Menzerna Power Lock, but I thought I just missed the defects prior. I've never had any problem with them before, I wash with Micro Rejuvenator on warm, and dry till damp then air dry. My Cobra towels don't scratch, but some lint and my PakShacks used to be perfect. I'm really upset because I have about 10 of these now, and they're basically brand new. What are you guys using on your cars? I am completely open to suggestions at this point..I have a black car btw
I use many MF but found PakShack to be uber soft...I had marring issues but they where cheap. You sure nothing is stuck in the fibers of the PakShak, have you washed them before, inspect the to see if nothing small is stuck in them.
Jon Checkout our selection of towels at my Rag Shack store, everything we carry is 70/30 grade and is really good quality. There are many members here that use our towels.
i have a huge arsenal of Pakshak Towels. Never had any issues with marring yet . . . . . though i have had cases where a little oil residue was left behind but it wasn't anything that a new clean towel couldn't clean up at worst with some QD.
hi! I Have many pakshak, and cg towels and I've never had marring issues, with Cobras just once with 1 guzzler and miracle and of course those towels will never touch paint again. One thing, if your car has really soft paint the MF edges, even silk ones, can mar the paint if you use much pressure. I've noticed that in the past with my Mitsubishi Eclipse and some Hondas.
