    To my fellow :mounty: ,

I live near Ottawa, about 5 minutes from it really. Usually, I always get stuff shipped to the UPS store in Ogdensburg, about 45 minutes from Ottawa. I only pay my gas and the bridge toll fee and get free shipping on all orders because it's being shipped to Ogdensburg, which is in the up-state New York.

So, after contacting Highline is they could ship via USPS, they said they couldn't. If you ever bought stuff from the USA and had it ship via UPS, you know that they charge a ridiculous amout of money to deliver your package + an extra duty fee, which you have to pay at the DOOR.

So, my plan is, if we can have a bunch of highline meters (the second gen) to the UPS store, I could pick them up, and then ship it out via Canada Post.

I'm buying one, so whoever wants to hop in, let me know,

Please see UPDATE on the last page.
    Later,

    Marc

Ogdensburg, New York is home to DeFelsko Corporation... the manufacturer of the PosiTest DFT . They're located at the base of the international bridge. -- autopaintgage.com

according to that website and the website Marc (Rennes) has given:

The positest DFT costs $495 and measures only Steel whereas the highline costs $225 measures steel & Aluminium. The positest DFT that measures steel and aluminium costs $695.

    .......why the difference of ~$470???

I just spoke with a representative at Highline meter, he'll be mailing me a quote for some deals.

    General guidelines:
    +10 people
Only for the 1st GEN paint gauge, since they don't have a whole lot of "margin" to bring the price down on the genII.

    so, stay tune!

  15. Rennes

    Rennes Jedi Nuba

ok so we need +10 buy @ 180$ + shipping for the 1st gen ONLY.

I will go for the GenII instead, since 10$ is not enough of a rebate.

So basicly, it's not enuff and getting 20 canadians for more of a rebate is ... well, almost impossible.

I think i will go on my own and buy a gen II and order some for the few that wants one too, if you decide to go that route.

There is a wal-mart there, can you say gold class car soap for 4$ a bottle? yup.

It is also the home of the world renowned Frederic Remington Art Museum.

Have you been there, DBeamish ?

And to repeat ps3king's question above, why is there a difference of ~$470 for something that looks practically the same ?

  20. ps3king

    ps3king Jedi Nuba

    Wait a minute....only $4?!?!?!

Yea man I'm down to come as long as my schedule allows. I do have a passport indeed, let me know when you plan to go and I will try to free up my schedule.

The difference of $470 comes from the accuracy between the positest and the highline. I'm not exactly sure how big the difference in accuracy is but you can get by just fine with the highline. I talked to Bryan (bryansbestwax) who's been in the detailing biz for a while (just look him up and you'll see) and I visited him in Toronto and he uses the highline himself and says it gets the job done just fine. Many other's on here use the highline as well and it's great. Hope that helps.
