I had seen a video of Nica using one of these a long long time ago... and when I saw them for sale in the new Oreily's catalog I had to buy one... can't pass it up for the price.. $59.99! I plan on keeping it in my pocket, quick and easy paint thickness measuring at a reasonable cost... don't think I'm tossing out my highline or that I no longer want the Desfelko stuff...
Nice! I still need to buy a damn ptg. and steamer. and extractor. what the hell am I doing buying more product? lol.
This PTG works pretty much the same way as an Elcometer 157 and Elcometer 211. All of them are mechanical gauges and aren't as advanced and accurate as the modern, digital PTGs that are around $250 for budget paint meters and $700 for premium paint meters.
kustomizingkid: Agree with you 110% That's why you mentioned in the first post that you're keeping your Highline paint meter. LOL
I'll always keep this mechanical gauge... so convenient... That being said I plan to buy the Desfelko stuff in the next year...
So how accurate are these mechanical gauges? I was going to snap one up but I thought they looked too good to be true.
Just call up and give them the PN... its out of their new refinisher's guid, they are starting to carry a full line of body shop supplies now...
