Well went to Wal-Mart today to get some WW Kitchen Towels (pictured below) 2x for $3 not a bad deal. Love them for door jambs and other places where I dont want to use my nice TC ones. I will say that the wally world ones do feel as soft as the TC ones and work great and do not mar paint. As most know you dont really buff with a WW just glide over. But man they are really soft for $1.50 a pop.

Anyways back on topic, so i head over the car section to see how the two pot of AG i left behind is doing and the palm apps. Well the pot of wax was gone and almost half the the apps where goon. Then a couple came in and started looked at stuff, Megs Supreme Shine dressing, and where reading the bottle and said oh yea I want this has protection. They look through all the products and pick one and start comparing the Black Magic stuff to Turtle Wax to Megs. It was just interesting to hear/see how non-enthusiasts go about picking detailing products. Even more so, realize how packaging played a role. The wife said oh lets get the Megs stuff the bottle is pretty looking and the label is nice.

Granted we are all knowledgeable in car care and know to read all manuf info with a grain of salt and go off experience, but when I am buying most anything I tend to do some research on products to see what is good and what is not. I guess no everyone really cares to look into stuff and just buys thing at whim.

Anyways, it was just interesting to see as the weather in Raleigh was warm this weekend people wanna wash there cars the the section was full and was interesting to hear all the talk about what to get and what not.

Pics of said WW MF (Being honest, they really do feel soft like the TC WW towels, $1.50 each great for door jabs so they dont get dirty, also use them for when I do open hose method as there is normally only a few drops of water here and there just use something small like this or just a normal MF o pick up the drops.

It's all part of marketing/advertising! There are many customers that make that decision when they don't really know what they're looking for. Some actually read the labels and some just go by looks.

I know its all apart of marketing and advertising but I was really hoping it was not true, haha. I know it is or companies would not spend millions on how a bottle looks or how a box looks. All in all, I was ROFL inside, really wanted to say something and suggest somethings but didnt want to get involved.

Well what about the people who buy the product because of the shiney car on the front haha

Heard a interesting analogy with guys and women about shopping and how stores can try and keep guys in stores longer to buy things. What they found out is guys will research before buying, so it's like walk in, get what you want and you're out of there. Women tend to walk around looking before they buy and hence spend more time in the store where maybe a floor person will try and sell them something. Guys don't want to listen to a store clerk because they researched and know what they want and don't want to listen to someone who doesn't know what they're talking about. I think someone did there homework here.

Funny post. I was at Advance Auto parts and saw something very similar happen.

I've got 4 of those towels. I leave them in the kitchen and dry my hands with'em. They feel nice

The local WM has 64oz of Gold Class wash for $6 and some AA m/f kits for $10. You probably wont believe this, but I didnt buy any of it! hahahaha

HAHAHAHA, I saw those too but when you are spoiled by some of the stuff we have those kits are not worth it.

Walmart (in Canada) was selling the AA m/f kits for $5. I picked one up a while back and the wash mitt is good- I use it for my wheels, the drying towel sucks, REALLY BADLY! I just use it in home, the yellow mf is alright, passed the CD test but I use it for door jambs and interior sometimes, the glass MF is good! and the polishing cloth I never used. Overall worth $5, at $10 no...

I looked at them to see what they had, nothing really stood out that I dont have already or something better. Just like those Megs kits for $5, there was nothing in those that I needed/wanted.
