Ok, so this is pretty off topic but I was mixing up a bottle of 1z W99 and I was just thinking to myself, "wow, I am mixing this at a 1:15 ratio so that would only be 1.5oz in my 24oz bottle and rest water. Is that really anything at all? Is it even going to work" I dont know maybe it is just me but when mixing things around the 1:10 ratio it just seems like you are using mostly water and could it really work? I remember mixing Megs APC 1:10 to clean vinyl and stuff and yeah it worked and foamed up nice and what not but still makes me scratch my head. Maybe it is just me but it just seems like using that little per bottle makes you think you are not really going to get any results out of it and almost rather have half the bottle with chem and rest water to make you feel good. Who knows maybe it is just me, but those higher dilution ratios really make me :shead:. haha.
i sometimes have found myself thinking the same thing when mixing APC's and what not but in the end when it works your worries and questions are put aside as it is now a fact that it will work and you no longer will be left wondering
Some products just have much higher concentrations than others and require more dilution. I certainly don't mind those type of products for great results.
I always experiment with mfg recommended dilution ratios as they are usually too strong (they are in the business of selling product, not water after all
I do know that, universal solvent...remember something from those two chem classes haha. I am not knocking the fact that they work, but when I have a new 1L bottle of W99, and to make a 24oz bottle i only needed 45 mL makes me think I will have this bottle for a darn long time haha.
I hear ya. But I would rather err on the side of too weak, then add a little more product if needed. The first time I mixe up a bottle of Meg's APC, I mixed it too strong. Left a white residue, and foamed up WAY too much. I now do not mix it any stronger than about 7:1.
