I was thinking I could stimulate the economy by adding new aluminum heads, intake and demon carb to my car. I consume way more gas, so those poor starving oil barons will be happy again, not to mention the revenue to the city through multiple speeding tickets, That money could used to help buy new books for schools.
Now if I could only convince my wife. She knows I'm just jonesing for a few more HP.

Paying more on the little debt we have left, sounds like that's not what they want to happen.

While I won't turn away the money I will provide my opinion.

    My Take:

The government always seem to be behind the curve when dealing with such issues.

When they do attempt to address the issue, it's like fixing a gushing wound with a band aid..

I think that due to the state of the economy as it is (I'll say the "R" word - recesssion), most will use this to pay bills and not buy goods.

Additionally, where is the government going to get this money to dispurse... China maybe?

To add insult to injury those that do actually buy goods with the money will more than likely be buying goods from China..... So, at the end of the day who's economy will be stimulated?

    1. The banks are looking for a bailout from these unresponsible loans that they marketed.

    2. How stupid are people for signing up for these loans?

Interest only loans where a scam from day one. I know that plenty of people made money off of them buying and selling propery. But in the end somebody bought that property using a interst only loan and got caught with their shorts down. They gambled and lost.

I know guys at work who had these loans. I told them, it will bite you in the ashe one day. They said no they won't, my loan officer told me this is the way to get the most house for your money. I told them if you can afford the payment on this house with a conventional 15 or 30 year loan, then don't buy it.

Also if you have to look to the goverment for a bailout, you have screwed up.

I will be extremely upset if the people get bailed out on thier mortgage lonas...

If you cannot do a budget to the extent to figure out what you can/cannot afford them you have no business buying a house...

I even take this hard stance with a friend of mine who lost his house because he got more house than he could afford and wonce his ARM went up he was screwed... I've told him straight out "I'm sorry you lost your home, but what were you thinking"...

it's time people assume some fiscal responsibility around here....

I hope this isn't a advanced for next yrs returns, i do remember a few yrs ago on the 300.00 rebates that a lot of folks got, then when one filed a return on the following yr return there was a box asking if one got that money and if one said yes then it was deducted from your return.....
