    Ok.

So we all know keeping exterior plastics looking good can be a royal PITA, especially the piece under the windscreen wipers.

So my question is this. Which ones work the best/last the longest?

I know proper cleaning is key, and found that cleaning them with Meg's APC seems to work pretty well for me.

I have tried Black Wow in the past, but wasn't fond of the product.

These are the current products I have that can be considered for opinions:

    1Z Vinyl/Rubber Protectant
    CG BareBones
    303 Aerospace Protectant
    Stoner's Trim Shine
    Meguiar's HyperDressing

Your thoughts/experiences/opinions/results/techniques would be greatly appreciated!!

    Thanks,
    -Roger.

I think Optimum makes one that works really well but I haven't tried it.

1z deep plastic cleaner is great for cleaning plastic before applying dressing. I have found it works a little better than APC.

I just got some Megs Ultimate protectant and seeing how it works out. I am using black wow currently on my cowl area and what not so be interested in ho Megs stuff ($10/bottle) holds up to black wowo.

I know Supercharged likes ultima trim sealant/dressing.

add another one for meg's 40. I like it. I use black wow if I have the time.

Has anyone tried KAIO on it? I've used it on glossy black cowl areas with good results, but haven't tried it on the textured variety.

Vinylex works pretty well as dressings go. I'm not sure it's any better than Trim Shine, though. Trim Shine seems to last reasonably well.

The only process I've used that I've found to be 100% satisfactory is removing the trim and redying it. I did that with some parts on my F250. That page shows my mirrors, but I did the cowl that way too. It's not always a practical solution, but if you can remove the trim in question, I think it's the way to go.

I love Gloss It's TRV. It is absolutely awesome and its a creme so it does not run everywhere. It a water base product too, so no oily residue if you miss.

Roger I use Stoner's Trim Shine most of the time. I use Black Wow when the trim is really bad and I have the extra time.

I think the key is how clean the area is before the application. Apply Trim Shine and let it sit under the sun for an hour or two. Buffing the residue with a MF should give you a nice matte finish.

yeah. i do like the trim shine a lot myself. i might have to try the deep plastic cleaner instead of the apc and see how that pans out for me.

I use either 303 or the DG trim dressing or their marine version.

I agree you can throw out Megs and Black Wow. Have you tried it out on tires?

I've used PB's Trim Restorer and Black Wow with great results. I've used 303 AP in the past but haven't recently used it to remind me of how well it works.

With PB's Trim Restorer, multiple applications are key.

Oh, Yeah! Because it just lasts and lasts and lasts...Very well worth it...

It's worth it, Roger...One bottle will last you a long time, because you use so little, and application lasts quite a while...

I would throw away BW, I'd use it up, and not buy anymore...afterall it is $25 for a small bottle...No I haven't tried it on tires, I love Tropi-care (showroom FX) white pearl so much, that's all I use on tires...

I'm really interested in seeing how the optimum coating lasts on the trim... that would be awesome if you could keep your trim looking great for a year at a time...
